One of the best episodes yet, featuring Mireille’s dramatic return to her homeland, which she was exiled from after the murder of her family at the hands of the Soldats. Naturally, this visit will answer a few questions and raise a few more. While it’s not as action-packed as some of the other Noir episodes, it does allow for some terrific character development for Mireille. Kirika isn’t present until the end, so it’s obvious that this episode will focus more on Mireille’s past than the amnesiac Japanese girl. It’s a very well-written episode, and one that seems to be leading Noir into its next story arc. Chloe reappears once again to add more confusion, and if I’m not mistaken, it seems that Mireille will become less and less of a focal point as this series moves forward. This won’t come as too much of a surprise, since most of Mireille’s past has already been unraveled. Now it’s time to find out what Noir’s purpose is in accordance with the Soldats.
