  • The series takes a turn for the bizarre with the introduction of a new character.

    10
At long last, the show has dropped and the veil is being drawn back from the mystery surrounding our two assassins. Slowly, of course, but the point is that it's coming back. A new character has appeared, a servant of the priest we've seen flashes of in episodes past.

This episode was awesome for most of the reasons mentioned before: Excellent music, even if the themes are starting to wear a little thin due to repitition; voice acting excellent as always; and a gripping storyline, awesome action, etc, etc. This new character doesn't seem to be as firmly rooted in reality as the others, dressed in a deep green cloak and with her purple hair, so I imagine this series is about to veer off course into the realm of the bizarre.moreless

    • Mireille: All right, who are you?
      Chloe: Chloe
      Mireille: Right. And you are?
      Chloe: The true Noir.
(Mireille seems about to make a move, but Chloe whips out a knife and holds it to her throat. From behind Mireille, Kirika raises her gun and points it at Chloe.)
If you'd really like, we can see who's faster. I am the true Noir, you know.

    • D'Estainq: You again!
Chloe: Didn't I tell you that Noir would kill you?

    • D'Estainq: Two-bit assassins. You should learn your place. The likes of you don't even deserve a trial.

    • D'Estainq: Just who the hell do you think you are?
Chloe: The name of an ancient fate. I am one who inherits that mantle.

    • Chloe: Judge D'Estainq. You have committed many sins. Countless sins, in fact.
      D'Estainq: And your point is?
Chloe: Rubik is dead. You're next.

    • Altena: Your task this time will be a very simple one. You will journey to meet her- both her, and her friend. Ah, at long last this day has come. And now everything depends on you, my Chloe. Go and see with your own eyes. See for yourself and decide.

    • Mireille: "He who sees his own reflection dies." It's from a book or something. Poe, I think.

    • Mireille: By Noir are they referring to us, or to whoever it was who really killed Rubik?

    • This episode marks the first proper appearance of Chloe (although we did catch a quick glimpse of her in Episode 7).

  • ALLUSIONS (1)

    • Mireille: "He who sees his own reflection dies." It's from a book or something. Poe, I think.
Once again Mireille quotes from a 19th century American author. Edgar Allan Poe was well known for his poetry, horror and detective stories.
