    • Brett and Billy didn't have a proper honeymoon.

    • Goof: Charles and his partner in the scouting mission kill 2 out of the 6 yankee men who were trying to give chase to Augusta. However, when the yankees decide to retreat, the 6 of them can be seen galloping away.

    • The Yankee army (40,000) duplicated in number the Confederate army (22,000).

    • Goof: When George and Constance's leave the Manassas battlefield, she is seen holding the reins but the second after that, she is sat behind George who is now holding the reins.

    • Clarissa only notices about the fire in the barn when an explosion occurs. However, the men's shouts are clearly heard from her room.

    • It is not clearly stated, although it is hinted, that Virgilia stole Constance's Irish dress.

    • Brett's engraving in Billy's wedding ring says Forever.

    • Goof: The map hung in Lincoln's cabinet has Union troops denoted as American flags with 50 stars, which is an anachronism.

    • Goof: In Book 1 Mr. Lincoln has blue eyes (Hal Holbrook's natural color), but in the second book Hal Brook wears coloured contacts to make them appear brown.

    • Goof: A cameraman in a light, blue shirt is briefly visible after the charge of the cavalry at the first Bull Run battle.

    • When Orry meets President Davis, and as Davis and Lee discuss about secession being a crime or not, a microphone is visible in the mirror on the wall.

    • Goof: In the foreword to Episode 1, Independence is misspelled as Independance.
