I know there are many who love(d) this TV series as I do, but I submit that no one loves it more than I do. If I had to pick my favorite segment within the 100+ shows, this one of Shelley meeting her future daughter in the Laundromat at different stages of her life was the best. The fantasy sequences were a great part of the show but a couple of times they just didn't work. I know it's fantasy but Maggie and the bear or Chris and the buck, were just too much. As there were good and bad fantasy parts, this episode ironically had one of my least favorite segments. Ruth Ann and Walter starting up a romance. I hate it when I'm negative :)moreless

    • Holling: (trying to find boiling water) Mike, there's fettucini in here. (pause) What do they use this boiling water for?
      Mike: I dunno. Sterilize things?
Holling: Yeah, that's what I reckon. Well here, we better scoop the noodles out.

    • Joel: (announcing to the Brick that the baby will have to be delivered at home) So why don't you (pointing to Marilyn) go to the office and get my newborn bag. The rest of you, if you want to be helpful, I need more clean towels, boiling water...(sees Holling looking stunned) and a box of cigars. We're having us a baby!

    • Chris: Why don't you think of the words of Tom Paine, who said, Man did not enter this society to be worse off than he was before, or to have fewer rights than he had before, but to have those rights better secured. When it comes to the right of the mind, he never surrenders it. The mind, that wonderful breeding ground of contradictory impulses like love and hate and rage and empathy. They've all been invited to the party, so you might as well make room for them.

    • Joel: My masculinity isn't hinged on whether or not I knit.

    • Chris: It looks like a fine winter's morning out there at the 63rd latitude. Jack frost is tagging up those window panes, hot java, english muffins, locked and loaded. The word on the street is that the Tambo-Vincour addition is due to pop out and see it's shadow manana. From the safety of the womb to the bright unknown. Hey little one, you got 843 expectant aunts and uncles out here all queued up for a little koochie koochie koo.
