This is the only true Halloween episode in the 6 season run. It takes on an avant garde, surreal atmosphere throughout.
Rob Morrow has said that this was his favorite episode to act. He uses his full acting range beautifully between the twin brothers, Joel and Jules. He shines bright in his portrayal of the flamboyant rogue, Jules.
The story line of Chris and the Mad Bomber is spooky and enjoyable as well.
One thing I've always loved about this show is its literacy with concepts from art, theater, music, philosophy, religion, cuisine, etc. In this case, the jail scene exposes the Freudian concepts of Id, Ego, and superego in a humorous but provocative way.
