  • Joel finds a mammoth only to be extremely shocked when Walt cuts the beast into steaks. Chirs' old crush comes for a visit and Chris imagines her to be a ugly witch. Maurice is forced to lie to Barbara to protect a fugitive violin player.

"One man's life altering experience is another man's tenderloin" So says Doctor Fleischman. In my opinion, this is the best quote and the best episode of the entire series. All three stories are excellent: Maurice with Barbara and the violin player, Chris with the old high school crush and Joel with the Mammoth. Any of these stories could have been the "A" story in another episode. I love the "perception" theme and how it's explored in this episode. I think this is one episode in which everyone can relate to. How many times have you been really excited or really obsessed with something, only to have a friend or family member shoot you down and say, "Ah, that's no big deal". Joel was right, life is a mystery.
