Goof: Chris says the cerebellum could conceivably be affected by electromagnetic activity, thus explaining the dream-switching. All scientific questions aside, he has the wrong part of the brain. The cerebrum controls things like thought, memory, and dreaming; the cerebellum controls things like balance and muscle coordination.
Ron: We have been baited by pros.
Joel: It's an awfully big jump to me having a nine-year-old's dreams. Marilyn: He's eight.
Joel: Dreams seem so cliche. Marilyn: Freud said they're the royal road to the unconscious.
Joel: I just want to go through life thinking people are happy.
Joel: Chris' picturesque metaphor aside, the subconscious is not a radio station!
Holling: Aren't you getting awfully personal? Joel: Well that's kind of the point.
Joel: Trust me, your noggin is self-contained. Holling: Couldn't (the dreams) just leak out?
Holling: Maggie, you had my dream. Ed: Oh wow.
Holling: I just wouldn't feel comfortable sharing my secrets with a stranger-particularly at 85 bucks an hour.
Holling: (Joel's attempts at drawing him out are failing miserably) Is it just me, or are you repeating everything I say?
Ruth-Anne: This is sex. Maurice: So? Ruth-Anne: It's not table manners or parliamentary procedure. It's the jungle.
Ruth-Anne: You're awfully quiet. Maurice: The world's going to hell in a hand basket.
Maurice: It used to be if you were a fairy you were properly ashamed of it. You lied to your draft boards, you stayed in the closet where you belong.
Maurice: I am not the pervert in this town. You are the perverts in this town!
Maurice: What are you two hens staring at? Erik & Ron: (in unison) Nothing.
Maurice: If I were to be seen carpooling with you fellas it could be inferred that I validate your lifestyle. Erik: Well, whatever.
Chris: If your radio can go out from sunspots, why not your cerebellum?
Chris: Mornin', Cicely, this is Chris-in-the-morning on KBHR, the only sign of life on the AM dial.
Ruth Anne: You know what Oscar Wilde said? Maurice: Oh great, another fairy. Ruth Anne: He said, "Nothing human is alien to me."
Holling: I haven't had any dreams since the aurora went haywire. Joel: That's impossible, Holling. Everyone dreams. Holling: The theater's dark.
Holling: I'm my mother. I'm my father. I'm chipped beef on toast?!
