Episode Summary

EDIT
General Amherst believes that a British captain named Stoddard has found a way to climb the 200-foot-high "Heights of Abraham" which shield French Quebec from a surprise attack. Amherst sends Major Rogers to make contact with a party in Quebec who might be able to contact Stoddard who's now being held (and tortured) in a French fort. The party proves to be a pretty woman named Audrey Bonay. She helps Rogers contact Stoddard by means of an arrow shot through the bars of the prisoner's cell. Rogers now returns to General Amherst with word of the location where the cliff might be climbed, but Audrey stays in Quebec to be with her mother.moreless

    • TRIVIA (1)

      • Following his torture at the hands of the French, Captain Stoddard is shown on his cell's cot -- lying on his back! Since the French tortured Stoddard by flogging his bare back with a cat-o'-nine-tails, it seems highly unlikely Stoddard would be now be lying on his bloody wounds.

    • QUOTES (1)

    • NOTES (2)

      • Though it occurs in a TV series, the British captain's flogging in this episode ranks 44th in the book: "Lash! The Hundred Great Scenes of Men Being Whipped in the Movies."

      • This episode, in which a bare-chested British captain is whipped, was written by Gerald Drayson Adams who also wrote "Break Out," the episode in which Keith Larsen is stripped to the waist and whipped. Curiously, though "Captain Stoddard" has a key role here and speaks several lines of dialog, the actor playing him is not identified in the closing credits.
