An allusion to the first woman in Greek mythology. The great god Zeus ordered her made as part of mankind's punishment for Prometheus' theft of fire. According to Greek mythology, she opened a box containing all the evils of mankind: greed, vanity, slander, lying, envy and pining. As she went to close the box to try and mitigate the damage she had done, she managed to keep in the last 'evil'- hope.
