It is stated that the drugs tampered with were over-the-counter medications, and that one of them was an asthma inhaler. Asthma inhalers are only available by prescription and cannot be purchased over the counter.
The Steiner Tree method may find the shortest route(s) between a set of points. HOWEVER it's not suitable for finding the route that a given person may be taking, because the person will only be taking the route if he's aware it's the shortest. A normal person will take a familiar route between two points. He may refine that route over journeys if he finds shortcuts - but he may go for years or never find that there was an even shorter route available... unless he uses similar mathematical techniques.
The Steiner tree problem is a problem in combinatorial optimization. It is superficially similar to the minimum spanning tree problem: given a set V of points (vertices), interconnect them by a network (graph) of shortest length. The Steiner tree problem is to solve this problem when adding new vertices is permitted before finding the shortest network connecting them.
The foundations of negotiation theory are decision analysis, behavioral decision-making, game theory, and negotiation analysis.
Charlie: ...but information theory indicates there is a connection.
Information theory is the mathematical theory of data communication and storage founded in 1948 by Claude E. Shannon. Modern information theory is concerned with error-correction, data compression, cryptography, communications systems, and related topics.
Colby Granger's hometown is Winchester, Idaho.
This is the first time a photograph of Alan and his wife is shown. Uncertainty Principle showed a photo of a younger Mrs. Eppes, but this one is of Alan and her when they are both older.
675 Billion dollars
There's some continuity problems with the torch at end of the negotiation between Megan and Bob McHugh. At the last shot from behind the torch you see a small flame, but in the shot before and after this there's a large and wide flame, like the torch is about burn out.
Ian: (Pointing at Charlie's scratchings on the sand) Does this mean anything to you two?
Don: Yeah, only that he's probably right.
Edgerton: (greeting Don and Charlie) Professor and Agent Eppes, how can I fail to learn something today?
Don: Hold on! What are you doing?
Megan: I'm a women. To a mountain man like Mchugh, I'm less of a threat.
Edgerton: She's got a point.
Don: She could also kick his ass but he doesn't know that.
Megan: (laughs) I see what kind of big brother he was.
Don: The Marshalls come to arrest him, he barricades himself inside the house. Four days later in the middle of a negotiation for no apparent reason he opens fire.
Edgerton: When did crazy stop being a reason?
Charlie:(To Larry on picking Charlie's brain) You're more than welcome to whatever scraps my brother leaves behind.
Charlie: It's not like I can whip up a magic formula for every single problem.
Colby:(After being introduced to Agent Edgerton)That's Edgerton?
David:Yeah,you know him?
Colby:That guy was a sniper legend in Afghanistan. You'd see his work everywhere, but you'd never see him. A colonel in special ops said he was the bastard son of Clint Eastwood and Yoda.
David:(laughs)I'll get you his autograph.
Don: (to Larry) Hold on... you and Megan went out to lunch?
Alan: (sardonically) Please tell me you ordered something other than white food!
(discussing gamma rays)
Larry: A gamma ray burst will release more energy in 10 seconds than the sun will emit in its entire 10-billion-year life span.
Don: Wait I got it... What's The Hulk's real name? Bruce Banner! Didn't gamma rays turn him into The Hulk?
Larry: (opens front door) They come from the furthest ends of the universe and after 45 years we are still uncertain of their origin.
Larry:(smiling) And we're closer to an answer on that than the three of you are ever gonna get on this.
Don: And Larry...
Alan: Now there's an image!
Agent Edgerton: (to Don and Charlie) I always have the best time with you guys.
Alan: (working crossword puzzle) Okay... 8-letter word for "egotistical."
Alan: "Conceited" is a 9-letter word.
Charlie: (spelling) C-O-N-C-E-T-E-D
Alan: (perturbed) Another person might think that our educational system has failed you completely, Charlie.
