NWA Wildside televised independent professional wrestling matches
between 1997-2005. Matches filmed before 1999 were marketed under the
National Championship Wrestling moniker. Wrestlers were often encouraged
to be creative in the ring, and the staff was supposed to treat the
product as a legitimate sports broadcast. 300 consecutive weeks of
television broadcasts were produced before the promotion shut down in
April 2005. The owner, Bill Beherens, accepted a job with WWE. Wildside
was then replaced with the newer NWA Anarchy television series.
