This episode was a classic example of the best NYPD Blue has had to offer us during the pas 10 years. Since the early seasons are now available on dvd, one can experience the fine dialogues, the well crafted characters and the unique NY atmosphere again, and... again.

In this particular episode we see how the law can be \'stretched\' a little, when an enraged father who\'s protecting his beaten son and kills two bums, gets off the hook because of his moral \'innocense\'. Yet, the highlight of this episode is the final hug of goodbye Jimmy Smits gives to an old friend who, while in jail, tried to \'use\' Smits in a deal to get himself free. It has a strong resemblance to the classic Mike and Fredo hug in Godfather 2 and carries a similar emotional grief.moreless
