A 60-min. version of this episode has been shown on COURT TV. In the shortened version, all but one scene of the subplot involving Medavoy, Martinez, Kirkendall and the doctor's bizarre insurance scam with the homeless amputees was cut--the remaining scene was kept in the hour-long version, because it provides a key plot point in the Egan/Israel case.
The episode won 2 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series.
In its original broadcast this episode was broadcast in a 90 minute time slot.
