On Sunday night, Ben, Camillia and Michael performed two classic 80's songs each. Now, one of them will be headed home, and the remaining two will duel it out for the NZ Idol crown.
Crossing to the judges, Dominic asked for their overall thoughts on the previous night's performances. Frankie said it was great watching how far everyone had come in such a short space of time; Fiona said she loved them all and couldn't pick a stand-out from the three as they were all so good; and Paul said there was a definite hit record for one of them.
Michael said he would definitely do it all over again; Camillia said the hardest part of the show was staying focused, and losing another contestant each week. Ben said the best thing was the young kids and their excitement and enthusiasm about Idol.
Dominic then reviewed the judges comments for each of the three contestants before teasing us with a commercial break, after which there was be a surprise for the remaining Idols - a gold record, celebrating the status of the NZ Idol Top 10 album, 'Homegrown'.
After last night's 80's special, Dominic first revealed that (in no particular order) Michael and Ben were through to the NZ Idol final. Camillia's NZ Idol journey was over.
After a look back at Camillia's time on the show - including some strong acclaim from Fiona and backgrounded by her performance of 'Purple Rain' - she told those at home who had Idol aspirations to work hard and go for it. Camillia closed the show with a performance of Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know?'
