It's a sad thing that ABC doesn't trust the series yet. I'm glad about the renewal, but disappointed for the late-airing.

It looks like when October Road does return that it will be on Mondays at 10 PM after the Bachelor ends its Fall run. So Mondays post DWTS and Bachelor will look like this.

    8:00-Wifeswap

    9:00- Sam I am

    9:30-Notes from the Underbelly

    10:00-October Road

Not the best lead in for OR, but hopefully it can prove itself in this time slot.

I wonder what ABC is thinking....OR has a a lot of fan support and backing yet they are not bringing it back till mid season.  They are doing the same thing with LOST, which is one of their biggest hits right now.

It seems like ABC wants October Road to fail, because they are giving it a weak lead in and by mid-season people are going to forget about a show that has only had 6 episodes. Hopefully they will show all 6 episodes again right before they bring it back.  My hope is that one of the new shows bombs early and they bring it on then.

It seems ABC doesn't have much faith in October Road and is saving for a mid-season replacement.
If one of ABC's new shows gets cancelled like the ones on Wednesday night, they could move October Road and LOST to the time slot.

We won't have to wait until Spring, it will probably return in January, technically, Winter.

Guys, midseason starters aren't bad ...

Look, think of it this way ... If OR starts in September, there will be a ton of dead weeks where they have their hiatuses right??? Well, the other day, on my way to work, there was this report on the radio about all the new shows this season ... they were talking about how everyone was so shocked that Lost was starting midseason, it being such a huge hit and all ... well they said their reasoning behind it all was ... well, kinda complicated. They said that with a show like Lost, so many viewers would have to be devoted to the show in order to keep such ratings. The type of viewers that when they aren't home to watch it, they record it, and if not that, as soon as possible, they get online to keep up with everything going on. ABC said, that fact of the matter is, viewers now days aren't to that point quite yet, so their approach is to have less hiatuses for the shows we love, and then midseason it almost be a complete switch out on their programs. So ... basically, when OR comes back on, just like Lost, it will run straight through ... no breaks, to make sure and hold the interest, and ratings, of viewers. Get it???

They are just fearing that if they start it in September, and stretch it till May, that with all the weeks that they take breaks, they are putting their neck on the line with losing viewers.

They did get a lot of shows, I'm sure only 2 or 3 of them will last.

Actually, a LOT of shows aren’t coming back until mid-season. Apparently, fall is no longer important and networks are starting to push the winter as the beginning.

If you forget about a show that easily, just because it starts midseason, then clearly you can't be as big of a fan as you say...that's what I think anyway

I guess the good thing is that it is returning! I would have loved for it to be in the fall schedule, but either way I will be equally excited to see what is to come...

As long as it comes back, I'll be ok. That show was like an old friend that you caught up with every week and were so strongly devoted to. Please keep good writers and give it a good lead in. I don't care if you switch the line up a time or two as long as you advertise what the heck is going on. I will follow.
