Phil's classic car is named "Klauss" and has a Massachusetts plate.
(After having sex) Nick: What do you think? Aubrey: That you just friended my brains out.
Eddie (About Pizza Girl): You know she's right, Phil. You should take her for a spin. Phil: I just continue to be amazed by which part of the "shut in" is unclear to you guys. Is it the "shut" or perhaps it's the "in"?
(Taking a test) Sam: In the next twelve months, your career goal is to... Hannah: Figure out a career goal.
Aubrey: We should go bowling. Taylor likes to bowl. Nick: She likes to bowl? Really? Wow, maybe she's more for my father than she is for my brother. Does she also make her own barbecue sauce using vodka and salt water taffy? Because if so, she's definitely for my dad.
(Sam tries to keep his werewolf costume) Sam: I can make a very strong case for this being a keeper. Hannah: Four year old Halloween costumes are non negotiable. They go in the out puddle. Sam: This is right after I learned there's no such thing as Santa Claus. Werewolves helped me get over it. Until, of course, I found out there's no such thing as werewolves. Hannah: And what helped you get over that? Sam: Dragons. Hannah: Sorry dude.
Hannah (About Ray's ex wife): I'll go double or nothing, she doesn't have a bottle opener attached to her key ring. Janet: Then she's a fool. The joke will be on her. If she's ever stranded on a desert island with three cases of grape soda that don't have twist tops, ha!
Ray: When I mention this, I'm suddenly being sexist, old fashioned and a thug. Hannah: Sexist and old fashioned yes, but you have been a thug long before this mention.
(Nick and Ronnie enter Sully's Tavern) Aubrey: I love it! Two Garretts for a price of one.

Sam: (carrying a boom box playing the Rocky theme) How you doing champ? Hannah: My knuckles are killing me. Teasing his mom being a prize fighter, Sam plays the theme from Rocky, a 1976 movie about boxing.
The title of the episode "Once Around the Block" is also the title of a single by Badly Drawn Boy.
Phil: I love the Manning's Wisemen. They bear an uncanny resemblance to Moe, Larry, and Curly. Moe, Larry, and Curly comprise the famous TV comic trio from The Three Stooges Show which aired from the 1930's to the 1950's.
Phil: (after his classic car started) It's alive! That famous line was spoken by Dr. Henry Frankenstein when the monster he created came to life in the 1931 movie Frankenstein.
