Episode Summary

EDIT
Halliday Vineyard
The name Halliday is synonymous with the Australian wine industry. Since it was established by James and Suzanne Halliday, Coldstream Hills has become one of Australia’s leading boutique wineries. From the first vintage of 450 cases in 1985, it has earned a reputation for producing an outstanding range of cool climate wines - particularly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The vineyard has become a signature of the Yarra Valley region. The land is quite steep and the vines have been close planted. The climate is cooler than Bordeaux and little warmer that Burgundy, which is why Pinot Noir and Chardonnay excel here. As consultant, James Halliday is very much involved in the wine making process; he and his wife Suzanne still live on the estate. The wines made at Coldstream Hills are characterized by elegance, silky supple textures and length of flavour.moreless
