- For the first time in the show's short history, a "Please Stand By" graphic was displayed on the screen, when, after a series of sexually explicit remarks toward Ryan, Janice Dickinson buried her hand between Ryan's legs. On the next day's show, Ryan revealed that before her segment, she had repeatedly been grabbing her breasts. He said that the director, Bob McKinnon, decided not to allow the interview to continue after the graphic was displayed, and quickly cut to a commercial break.
