On Camera

Show Summary

On Camera was a comedy and drama anthology that originally aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. This show consisted of four seasons and ran from October 1, 1954 to September 1, 1958. These 30-minute episodes were broadcast on Saturdays at 9:00 pm during seasons 1 and 2, and Mondays at 8:30 during seasons 3 and 4. The series featured original plays written specifically for the show and existing plays adapted for the show. This show was intended to be a showcase for Canadian writers and playwrights. It used many different writers and Leslie MacFarlane wrote six episodes, more than any other writer. Additional regular writers include Tom Elspie, A.J. Russell and M. Charles Cohen. Many of the original plays used the same characters and background. The plays in this series included Waltz by Stanley Mann, Blind Date by Jacqueline Rosenfeld, The Last Long Crusade by Doris French, Who Destroyed the Earth by Len Peterson and Two From King Street by Jack Kuper.

  • I can see how some people say that there are problems with On Camera but I personally think that it is still very enjoyable.

I can see how some people say that there are problems with On Camera but I personally think that it is still very enjoyable. It's nowhere near some of the other shows that I've watched lately but it's just because those were particularly good not that On Camera was particularly bad. Recommended if you have time to spare.
