This one definately should have stayed in the oven a little longer.
Mark Frost and David Lynch's creative partnership worked so well for 'Twin Peaks', I dont know where it went wrong with this show. I think they just tried too hard to create something different, and that definitely worked - 'On The Air' is definitely more different than anything you've seen. It's (apparantly) about the inner workings of a 1950's type TV studio, but done in a wacky madcap style. None of it works, though. Some bits are funny, but more in a 'I cant believe Im watching this' sort of way. All of it seems unrehearsed (the bad kind) and almost embarrassing at times. It's definately no surprise that this pilot didn't catch on with more people.
