A weak episode near the end of the show's life. On the one hand it resorts to the classic union-bashing of the time with an unlikely story that sets Jack against Stan. Jack's betrayal (for 30 (!) pounds) seems uncharacteristic, even if his behaviour is somewhat explained in the final scene. Apparently that story line couldn't fill an episode and so we get a second act that is little more than a sketch about wallpapering. You have to hand it to the actors that they did their stunts themselves, but that's about the only good thing you can say about it. And what about having a black character called Chalky playing the role of 'blackleg' (strike breaker). Subtle!moreless

    • Jack: Look, you've made your point. I've got a bird waiting for me. Come on. It's late, mate.
Stan: Don't 'mate' me, mate. You're no mate of mine, mate!

    • Stan: Stan:I'm staying on strike.
Jack: I'm perfectly willing to work.
      Stan: I'm not!
Blake: Look here. We can't have one half of the bus working and the other half on strike, can we? Come on and get this bus out.

Stan: You can, if you like, but it won't get very far because my half has got the engine in it.
