  • I smell Dramedy's...

This was overall a very good epiosde but... STOP MAKING DRAMAS!!! Seiously the concept was comedy, and most of the comedy missed, (And kept on making cheap toliet humor) while the drama seeped through and took over. But the good movies were awsome. Also... GET BETTER JUDGES!!! The judges drove me insane tonight. Getta Rhoom was one of the hits of the night, and the judges went off on it saying that it was a take on mentally challenged people... I never saw it that way. And I'm sorry if I'm offending anyone. In short, this epiosde proved that they can only do dramas.
  • Steven Spielbergs 'On The Lot' All this show is missing is Spielberg...

I love movies like almost everyone. And seeing uoing talent have a chance to show us what they can bring to the table is exciting. I found myself clapping alone in my loungeroom at some of the contestants movies. I'm no fan of reality TV. And I can't stand American idol which this show is heavily inspired by. But besides my dislike of reality this seems to come far above the usual glossy cable standards of reality TV that I am used to.
What I do dislike is Judge Carrie Fisher's stalted way of speaking and flailing arms as she struggles to judge.
I wonder where Mr Spielberg is? I know he's a busy man. But with a show with his name in the title i'd love to see him make an appearance.
This show is well worth the investment of your time.
If only to see the short pic 'Lucky Penny'.
  • Ready for your close-up?

I din't see "On the Lot" last week and I finally got to see what everybody's talking about. A show in which someone gets a chance to make their own movie and get a chance to work for Steven Spielberg. this is better than "American Idol," better than every reality show that I have seen. I saw all 18 short films, yes there are a few I didn't like. I should know, I review movies for The big Screen cinema guide. I like the judges. Carrie fisher is my favorite. At the end of two hours, I can't wait to see the result show the following night.
  • Week One: Movie Reviews by Sonic80.

Adam's Dance Man: I though it was pretty Funny. It could have been better at times. 8/10

Caroline's Deliver Me: I personally didn't like the whole thing. There were parts that made me laugh. Particularly at the end when the baby is born, and she gets on the cell phone. 7/10

Andrew's movie Spaced Out: Oh, man! This was one of my favorites of the night. I loved how the aliens kept throwing up. 9.5/10

Kenny's Wack Alley Cab: What? I watched it 6 times and I still don't get it. 3/10

Hilary's Bus Number One: Ugh. I think that this movie was just too gross for me. 6/10

Martin's The Big Bad Heist: Oh, I loved this one. If he gets a shotgun I want an Uzi! I laughed so hard. Perfect Score 10/10

Will's Lucky Penny: I did like this one, it was very well done, I think that mostly it was very good. 9.5/10

Jessica's To Screw In A Lightbulb: Uh? I get it, but It just doesn't seem funny to me. 4/10

Mateen's Soft - LOL! I really liked this one too. I loved the whole part about his grandma. 9.5/10

Claudia's Blind Date - This movie had some potential, but I didn't really like it. 6/10

Jason's Getta Rhoom - Oh, this one was very funny. The guy wasn't mentally Challenged. Carrie Fisher needs to look into that. It was pretty much perfect. 10/10

David's File Size: Hmm, not that great, it was repetitive and long, and the main idea wasn't that funny anyway. I give it a 6.5/10

Zach's Danger Zone: Wow... Zach is the Master of Special Effects. That was just so good! I love the part where he sets the guy on fire. 10/10

Trevor's A Golf Story: This wasn't exactly what I would call "Funny." It had potential, but it just screwed up. 5/10

Shalini's Love in the year 2007: This one was pretty funny. I loved the MySpace part. It was probably the funniest in the movie. 8/10

Phil's Please Hold: This one made me laugh. "If you are being murdered, press 1." Lol, do they really do that on 911? 9/10

Shira-Lee's Check Out: This movie just annoyed me. Was she having an affair with the metal detector? It wasn't funny at all. 4.5/10

Sam's Replication Theory: Oh, man! Ending the night off very well. I loved this one. It was perhaps my favorite of the evening. Bravo to the cavemen actors. 10.1/10

    Rating - 9.5/10.0
  • One minute comedy movies and stuff. Loved it!

Okay. First off, Adam Stein's Dance Man. I thought it was great I give it a eight out of ten. Caroline's Deliver Me I only liked it a little, but it was still good. I give it a seven out of ten. Andrew's movie Spaced Out was really funny, I give it a nine out of ten. Go barfing aliens! Wack Alley Cab by Kenny, I didn't really get what happened. Four out of ten. Hilary Gram Bus Number One at first I was laughing a little but in the end it was kind of... gross. But, I give it a seven and a half out of ten. Martin's The Big Bad Heist was good, but it was a preview and not really comedy for me. I give it a seven out of ten. Will's Lucky Penny was pretty funny. I give it an eight out of ten. Jessica's To Screw In A Lightbulb had some plot issues, but it was pretty under developed for such a wide used metaphore. Seven out of ten for me. Mateen's Soft was funny, but the ending kind of dissapointed but the part with the grandma was awesome. And yeah the contrast part. I give it an eight out of ten. Claudia's Blind Date I thought it was actually pretty funny. She doesn't seem as the comedy type though. I give it an eight out of ten. Jason's Getta Room was really funny for me, I give it a nine out of ten. I don't know how they didn't think he was a nerd or something in the film though. David's File Size was just ok for me. The plot was to repetitive for me though. I give it a seven and a half out of ten. Zach's Danger Zone was really awesome for me, best so far. Nine and a half out of ten. The effects were awesome as well. Trevor's A Golf Story was funny. But it seemed a little short compared to others. I give it a eight out of ten. Shalini's Love in the year 2007 was real funny. Escpecially the myspace part. I give it a nine and a half out of ten. I really liked it. Even though humour wasn't really her thing. Phil's Please Hold was real nice, I liked the actor. I give it a nine out of ten. Shira-Lee's Check Out was good, I give it an eight and a half out of ten. One last movie, Sam's. Replication Theory. Oh my gosh that was funny at the end and with the Asian guy(yeah I'm asian). So yeah it was funny. I give it a nine out of ten. So, basically I think everyone did a good job but others did better than others. I wonder how many wil vote, and who will go home. I can't wait for tommorow!
