Grace tells Lily about the rumor that went around school. Lily tells her not to worry about it, but she gets shocked when Jack tells her that he heard about the incident from his carpool buddies. Karen still doesn't know anything about Lily and Rick, and Lily doesn't want them to go public because she's self conscious of what others may think of her.

The school carnival is coming up and Eli and Grace get paired up on making the posters as well as taking care of the popcorn stand. Grace is secretly pleased on having Eli as a partner, but he still sees her as a friend.

At the carnival, Lily is shocked when she hears her friends gossiping about others in the community, and knows that she would be their topic of conversation soon. Things get even worse when she finds out that she has been paired off with Karen for the booth, and Rick has been paired with Jack. She finds out that Karen doesn't know about it yet, so she doesn't bring up the topic. Karen hears about Rick and Lily's relationship through other people and gets angry with Rick. Meanwhile, Eli goes off with Jennifer, and some girls scoff at Grace and tell her that Eli will never fall for her. Lily finds out that Grace likes Eli, but she doesn't know what to do about it. Lily must now make a decision as to whether she can overcome her fear of what others might think of her if she was seen with Rick in public.

This is one of my favorite episodes. Every scene at the carnival was a delight to watch, and the ending was excellent too!moreless
