  • Peter Pan is proving to be better than ever

    9.0
This was a good episode. Confused somewhat but good. I love the character of Peter Pan. He is everything we know from the stories but with bitter and twisted side which fits the story so well. It is interesting how he wants to play a game but it has to be played right, cheaters do not win. Not sure about Emma being an Orphan (I get the link but don't overly feel it) so I wonder if this will link to more feuds between her an Snow White.

Not sure where the Rumpelstiltskin storyline is going at the moment but we can assume that Pan does not want him to be more than the coward he sees himself as. I wonder if there will be a way to get redemption later but at a cost (either Bay or Henry). I liked the way he cut his shadow free and got it to hide the knife... I am sure that will come back later on.

Overall I like the way the characters are interacting and the infighting and (brief) alliances that form with key decisions. The flashback with Snow and the fake Excalibur was kinda pointless but nice but with the new darkness thanks to Pan I hope these "lovey Dovey" bits will be minimal. I know the story is about hope and succeeding against evil but we can do that without the slickly sweet bits like this weeks flashback too often.

Still looking forward to the next episode as the rest of my family as this is one show we all love to watchmoreless

  • Yawn...

    5.0
I thought it was a predictable mess. It really killed any momentum it had going with the first episode. They're just dragging this thing out. What was the whole point of the flashback? Did it really add anything? It just felt like filler and frankly it was just something we already knew. Damn, this show sure is mean, we get you have to BELIEVE. The way they constantly repeat their themes is getting on my nerves.

And this show really can't write heroes, I think that is why it has never really taken a big step up in quality. Regina, Rumple, and Hook all have some life to them, even when nothing is really happening plotwise for them, but our heroes are a bunch of overly-stoic bores.

That being said, no Henry so yay!moreless
  • Interesting!

This was a great episode with soem really good developments. One could be forgiven for getting confused with the order of events in the Enchanted Forest in the past, even though they are really interesting, but the main focus is rightfully on the events in Neverland.

I quite enjoyed the interactions between Pan an d Emma, and I'm looking forward to the storyline developing further. Meanwhile Regina was at her hilarious best just trying to use magic constantly.

It was a great series of events, and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next - wonder what Rumpelstilstkin will do if he gets to Henry first...moreless

    • Hook: Tell me something, luv. In these stories... what was I like? Other than a villain. Handsome, I gather.
Emma: If waxed mustaches and perms are your thing.
Hook: I take it that perms are bad?

    • Magic Mirror: Careful! If you break me, I'll give you fourteen years bad luck!

    • Regina: Stop denying who you are... Snow White. You may have been a princess, but you will never be a queen.

    • Emma: That look in his eyes, the despair, I had it. Back when I was in the foster system. Just a lost little girl who didn't matter. Who didn't think she ever would. A little girl who cried herself to sleep every night because she wanted her parents so bad and could never understand... why they gave her up.
Mary Margaret: And then you found us. And it was too late.
Emma: It's just on this island, I--I don't feel like... a hero or a savior. I just feel like what I've always been. An orphan.

    • Rumplestiltskin: Sword's a fake, dearie. Shoddy craftsmanship, too. But then again, what can you expect from a shepherd? Lucky it wasn't made out of wool.

    • Grumpy: We might owe you a slight apology.
      Charming: Slight?
Grumpy: Don't get greedy. Take it.

    • Emma: Is rum your answer to everything?
      Hook: It certainly doesn't hurt.
