  • I HATE time travels!

    3.0
I haven't watched the second part yet, however, I am pretty sure is going to suck also! Because I hated this one!

I HATE time travels episodes! They suck! A totally unnecessary torture! Or either they are going to change stuff, which also suck because what have happened before will mean nothing, or a lot will happen just to keep it all the same, but actually different and crappier...

So stupid! Why! Why do writers keep on doing this? Such a lack of creativity!

I am so frustrated about this that I had to come here to review! And I never review anything!

It is not zero because it started well and they haven't ruined anything yet!moreless
  • Emma and Hook's Excelent Adventure

    10
    That's right Mr. Peabody.

    Sherman

This is part one in the time travel two parter, this is actually the series first contained arc which I feel is a breath of fresh air. It's a typical time travel premise, but it's one of the best ones because despite treading old ground, the mere fact that Emma and Hook are in the picture makes it a whole new journey.

I really liked the "Back to the Future" reference which was ironic since in that film Marty's objectives are the same as Emma and Hooks which is to somehow guide her parients to be together and get back to the future. It was funny what Hook said about Marty Macfly, "Is that a wizard's name?" it does kinda sound like the name of a wizard.

It was funny when both Hook and Emma entered King Midas's palace and then they both forgot to give each other alias's. Emma's alias was the best when she announces herself as Princess Leia, I couldn't help but crack up good choice Emma. But it also makes you wonder since she gave herself that name in that time period, if George Lucas got the idea of the character from the storybook. Also wouldn't mind if the actress was in the new Star Wars films coming up.

I also like how we see scenes from the original episode in Season 1 it's based on, but due to the changes, it really causes you to rewatch that episode and see what differences and similarities are in place. This makes it all the more susupenseful in a way because if you've seen the original episode then your a step ahead of them, and we are constantly hoping that somehow Emma and Hook will help make what is suppose to happen happen.

Really like the ballroom scene, both look great in the fancy outfits, though more impressive is Emma in that dress. She really does look like a fairy tale princess, kinda like Allora from "Sleeping Beauty". I really like seeing both Hook and Emma dance which was beautiful and as usual it was great seeing sparks fly between them. Personal I felt with scenes like this it really showed that Emma really is a fairy tale princess and she does have a place in the fantasy relm but most importantly with her family.

But of course their mission isn't complete yet as Emma is captured by Regina when she was still bad which isn't good and Emma has the ring. So then in the final minutes we get to the scene where Snow is caught in a net by David and fortunately Hook knows the place and time when that happens and recruits both Snow and David to help him.

So the fairy tale is far from over.moreless
  • Brilliant!

    10
This is a revie w of the first half of the finale only - I'll be reviewing the other half separately.

In the first hour we got transported back in time! It was so exciting seeing everything unravel and everything needing to be put back together. I quite loved Rumple's reactions to seeing people from the future.

We are in a bit of a predicament though - the future is now unwritten and hopefully they can put it all back together but part of me hopes this storyline goes on just a bit longer!

    Great episode!moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Leroy: Ding dong.
      Granny: So she's really...?
Leroy: Oh, yeah, that witch is done. That's a good thing. Because if that Sleeping Beauty had been a monkey a day longer, she would've had a monkey baby. Wouldn't want to change those diapers.

    • Hook: So... any ideas how to go back?
Emma: How would I know how to get back to the future? Who do I look like--Marty McFly?
      Hook: Marty McWho?
Emma: The kid with the lightning and the DeLorean and they went back in time and...
Hook: Is he some sort of wizard?
Emma: No, Marty McFly isn't a wizard.

    • Emma: That's Regina.
Hook: Not Regina, love. The Evil Queen.
      Regina: You will help me.
Emma: She's even worse without the sensible pantsuits.

    • Emma: She's gonna remember a glimpse of a face thirty years from now?
Hook: The point is to minimize you making a lasting impression. Sadly, red leather jackets don't come into vogue here... ever.
Emma: Fine. Well, the only lasting impression I'm concerned right now is what this corset is making on my spleen.
Hook: Your discomfort is a cross I'm willing to bear.

    • Rumplestiltskin: I don't know who you are, dearie, but why don't you run off and let me enjoy my killing in peace?

  • NOTES (2)

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • Emma: You're not going to hold him out in front of the clock tower and present him like Lion King, are you?
Referencing the 1994 Disney animated movie The Lion King. At the beginning of the movie Rafiki, the wise baboon, holds the newborn Simba up to the gathered animals so they can look upon their future king.

    • Emma: Who do I look like, Marty McFly?
Referencing the Back to the Future trilogy movies, starting with the first one in 1985. Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) goes back to the 1950s using a DeLorean modified by his friend, scientist Doc Brown. Late in the first movie Marty has to power up the DeLorean using a bolt of electricity so he can return to his own time from the 1950s.

    • Emma: And I'm... Princess Leia.
Referencing one of the main characters in the original Star Wars trilogy of movies. Carrie Fisher plays Leia Organa, the initially haughty princess from Alderaan. She eventually ends up with romantic interest Han Solo.
