I used to watch"One Day at a Time"when I was in my teens. Wasn't there a young dorky male character with a southern accent who was a close friend of the family. That character stands out in my mind but I can't remember the name of the actor or the character. I think he would have been on the showin the early years and he would have been in his 20's at the time.

This is driving me crazy so please help.

I can't think of the actor's name, but his character was named Bob. If you go to particular episodes, you will find out the actor's name. He was blond and dug Barbara. I always thought it was Matthew Modine, but I was wrong.

His name is John Putch, and he is the real life son of Jean Stapleton, who played Edith Bunker on All In The Family.
