When Skills and Lucas are in the gym, Tree Hill's state championship banner is visible, along with a runner-up banner from 1989. It is mentioned in other episodes that when Dan was a senior, Tree Hill finished as the runner-up and that since then, they hadn't had such good teams. However, in previous episodes, Dan's senior year was 1986.
Haley is no longer wearing a ring on her right pinky. She had previously worn one in seasons 1-4.
Brooke's cell phone is an iPhone.
Number: 23
While Lucas, Skills, Jamie, Junk and Fergie are playing video games, before Jamie wins the game, the announcer says that number 23 is up.
Number: 23
Nathan's new shoe line is called NS 23.
In this episode, the intro voice-over was made by Lucas. The closing voice-over was a telephone call between Brooke and Peyton.
Number: 23
Right before Nathan's barfight, the number 23 is on a building before the camera pans over to Nathan walking out of the bar.
Brooke tells a reporter that she is 21. In the Season 4 episode 'Things I Forgot at Birth', showed Brooke's 18 birthday and with the episode taking place four years, six months and two days after the events of last season, character should be 22 years old. However this could be taken as the character simply lying about her age as is common amongst celebrities.
(at the airport of Tree Hill) Peyton: I've missed you, Brooke Davis.
Brooke: Mmm, I missed you, P. Sawyer. We're home now.
Nathan: (on the couch) My dad's in prison and so am I.
Haley: Yeah well, You can walk out.
Nathan: (to Lucas) Give me that bottle right now or Dan is not going to be the only Scott to kill his brother.
John Knight: Okay. Let's do lunch. Sawyer! What's the name of that sushi place I like?
Peyton: You were wrong yesterday when you said the kids in the clubs were just there for decadence. I think it's more like romance and hope
and inspiration and that feeling that you get when other human beings pick up basic
instruments and make sense of your world. And the day that I think it's just about
making money is gonna be the day that. I've betrayed everything I believe
in about music and life and myself.
John Knight: Was that a sushi place?
Peyton: I quit, John. I'm going home.
John Knight: You're making a mistake.
Peyton: No. I'm fixing one.
Jamie: I think you drink too much.
Nathan: I think you're right.
Victoria: And I've made a change to the model lineup due to the additional scrutiny from the press.
Brooke: Oh, but you forgot...
Victoria: She's not on the list.
Brooke: She's my friend.
Victoria: She's not your friend. She's an employee.
Brooke: I'm not sure I'm comfortable with that.
Victoria: Brooke, clothes over bro's is a multi-million dollar company. Yeah. A company that you've entrusted to me to make executive decisions like these. We have to cut her loose.
Brooke: You're gonna fire her?
Victoria: No, I'm not gonna fire her. You're gonna fire her. It's your company, my dear. I just work here.
Brooke: Okay. What time is the premiere?
Assistant: 8:00,red carpet at 6:00.
Brooke: I'm gonna do the red carpet and then skip the movie. Let's call one of the Nicks and find out if they'd like to go.
Assistant: Okay, which knick do you prefer? There's Stephon Marbury, Jamal Crawford... Oh, David Lee is really cute.
Brooke: Not the New York knicks, you goof. The nicks: Nick Lachey, Nick Zano, Nick Reid. Whoever. And tell Victoria to wait for me in the limo.
Assistant: She's not gonna like that.
Brooke: Well, she works for me.
Brooke: Guys. Absolutely not! There is no way she gets on the cover of my magazine unless she gains 10 pounds, minimum. She looks unhealthy.
Assistants: We were just brainstorming.
Brooke: Brainstorm better. Anorexia is a disease. It is not a fashion statement.
Skills: So six months ago when they asked us to fix this mess, what the hell were we thinking saying yes?
Lucas: Well, well, isn't it Skills Taylor, the new assistance head coach of the Tree Hill Ravens...
Skills: Hey, if you can afford me. (They laugh) So how great is that, Lucas Scott - head coach. Local boy makes good.
Lucas: Local boys make good. You are a big part of this, Skills.
Skills: I hope so. Man, we blow this place up. Hey, how many games they won since we hung that state championship banner?
Lucas: Not many. But I do know one thing. Losing's over.
Skills: Oh, no doubt.
John Knight: I hate to be the one to break it to you, but rock & roll can't actually save the world.
Peyton: See, I disagree. Walk into any club on the strip tonight, and just look at the kids. Look into their eyes. I mean they're all looking for something to believe in, and I think that music can be the thing to change the world.
Lucas: (to Jamie) You are a genius. You sure you're not my kid?
Nathan: (Nathan gets out of his wheel chair) Daddy is sorry... For everything.
Peyton: Hi. How long has it been?
Lucas: Heh... Two years...
Peyton: No. It has been longer than that. Luke, I missed you.
Lucas: I have someone now. I'm with someone.
Brooke: And we've got to send something funny with a card to Conan O'Brien. Cheese. He likes cheese.
Assistant: You want me to send Conan O'Brien cheese?
Brooke: Manchego, no, send Gouda. Gouda is the funniest cheese.
Lucas Scott (voiceover): Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday. We graduated high school, saying goodbye. That feeling that you get at seventeen or eighteen that nobody in the history of the world has ever been this close, has ever loved as fiercely or laughed as hard or cared as much. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday and sometimes it feels like someone else's memory.
(Montage of Peyton talking to someone on the phone and Nathan trashing his trophies - we hear her side of the mysterious phone call)
Peyton: Hi, it's Peyton. Yeah, I'm sorry. I know it's late there, I just... what happened to us? You know? I don't know who I am anymore. Or how I got here. I miss who I used to be. I wanna have a home again, ya know? And real friends. You know, the kind of friendships we used to believe in. I miss that. And I miss you. I guess I just miss all of it. Does any of that make any sense?
(We see Peyton's mysterious phone call is... to Brooke)
Brooke: Yeah, it makes all the sense in the world, Peyton. Four years ago, it all seemed so clear, didn't it? Conquer the world, save the world, live happily ever after.
Peyton: Are you happy, Brooke?
Brooke: Sometimes. Not always. Are you?
Peyton: No.
Brooke: Okay, then let me ask you something. What is gonna make you happy, Peyton? Is it how you look? Or the car you drive or the people you know? Is it money or celebrity or power or accomplishments? Because I have all those things and I don't think it's enough.
Peyton: Well then, what is?
Brooke: Love, I think. And that love can be for a boy or a girl or a place or a way of life or even for a family. But where you find it is up to you. So where are you gonna find that love, Peyton?
Peyton: I think I need to go home.
Brooke: Yeah. I was hoping you'd say that.
Haley: Your daddy loves you. You know that right?
James: Uncle Lucas loves me.
Brooke: Clothes over Bro's is my dream come true. This is what I wished for.
