While a bit of a filler, I did enjoy A Kiss to Build a Dream On. My favourite storyline was probably Sam and Victoria getting closer, making Brooke jealous. Victoria really does seem sincere in wanting to be better with Brooke and it's about time. This friendship with Sam has really humanised her character. Such a shame that Sam's birth mother has to be introduced because I'm really starting to like Sam's character.

The Peyton/Lucas flashbacks were kind of laughable because they looked nothing like how they did at the end of the 4th season, but it was sweet. Haley letting Nick Lachey record her song was nice and I did like it. Nathan turning down that offer was wise and I did like how Devon (who has randomly turned nice) got the offer instead. Chase and Mia's little Brooke drama was amusing cos it really shouldn't have been a big deal. Jamie and Skills at the dance was actually really entertaining too.

  • Nick Lachey!!

I love this episode. It was fun.

Peyton is going bed rest stir crazy. I don't blame her, but for a girl who owns like ever record ever made how can she get bored with all that great music to listen to.

I love that Lucas fixing The Comet. It's such an important part of Peyton and their relationship. And I love the flashbacks. It's cool seeing more of Peyton and Lucas' relationship from after high school.

It's a weird, but it's sort of cool having Sam and Victoria bond. And I like Skills and Lauren together. I'm also glad that Nathan didn't take the Europe offer.

And Haley gets an offer to have an artist record one of her songs...Nick Lachey!! I love him and I love that he likes one of Haley's songs, but I think it would have been hilarious to have Chris Keller come back and be the guy who wanted her song.

It was also really funny with the whole Tree Hill first and last name thing. It's true. Everyone calls everyone by both names most of the time. It was so funny when Mia talked to Haley about Chase losing his virginity to Brooke. I forgot about that actually. So it's really funny having that reminder and not just about Chase and Brooke, but about Nathan and Taylor too when Haley told Mia about it.moreless
  • Nathan gets a professional basketball offer.

This episode certainly had its moments, but this is just not the same quality One Tree Hill during the early years, or even at the beginning of this season. Why build toward Sam meeting her birth mother and then not even show it at the end of the episode?

Nick Lachey was mildly enjoyable in his role, but let's not sugarcoat it: this was stunt casting, just like Gossip Girl is doing with No Doubt in their finale.

And I have to question Nathan getting an offer from a professional team just a few games into his run. That doesn't happen too often.

But it was the Lucas and Peyton scenes that really irked me. Those characters are just so boring and I personally cannot wait until they leave this show. Take Chase and Mia with them and it'll make my day.moreless
  • Amazing!

I loove One Tree Hill so much, A Kiss To Build A Dream On, was wonderful. Brooke, again proved to me to be one of the best younger female actresses on televison. I thought she was really moving as the "emotionally neglected daughter". The flashbacks of Lucas and Peyton were absolutly adorable and hilarious. I am so tired of the Nathan - Basketball drama, lets get on with his life shall we. Haley was good, it seemed like it took alot out of her to let someone else record her song. Victoria has once again proven to always have something up her sleeve, but for some reason Sam likes her. I love Victoria/Brooke/Sam scenes, there great. Overall, I give it a 10! =]moreless
  • So..

Ha ha i thought this episode was really funny tbh, i thought it was pretty funny how Nick Lachey was all 'You really like to use first and second names' and Mia was all 'Its a Tree Hill thing' Because yeah they do that alot - But its kinda funny. Also that line 'Why didn't you tell me you lost your virginity to Brooke Davis?' 'I didn't. Why, did she say i was a virgin?' - HILARIUS. =] Aww Jamie and Skills are like the best characters on there cause their so funny. The school dance was cute but does anyone else think its a bit weird how like the adults are fine with Jamie having a crush and going on a date with his teacher? BTW, i liked the Peyton and Lucas scenes but Godd, the way they put her hair was so wrong! Ha ha i sorta like Victoria when shes nice and when shes harsh :D I don't think this shows dragging on its got some good story lines. Tis all dudes (Y).moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Goof: In the flashback scene in Peyton's car when Lucas gives Peyton the tickets to The Cure concert, the water behind Lucas doesn't move. The scene was obviously shot against a background instead actual water.

    • When Lucas has the flashback of giving Peyton the tickets for The Cure concert, it was supposed to be the day after the events that took place in the season four finale. However, Peyton's hair is noticeably longer and Lucas' hair is noticeably shorter than in the Season 4 finale: in effect, they look exactly as they do now.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Mia: Did you know that Chase lost his virginity to Brooke?
Haley: (She laughs) Yes, and I'm guessing from the look on your face, you did not know that... Well, welcome to Tree Hill, I challenge you to find a boy that did not lose his virginity to Brooke Davis.
