I love the first scene with Peyton waiting for the red light so she can hopefully crash, like her Mother did. I love her paintings, there so amazing I'm so jealous. I love the scene with Hayley and Lucas, and she tells them why she is doing it, for his benefit. I love the scene between Nathan and Tim talking about Peyton. I love the newspaper article. I love the way Brooke is with Lucas, there pretty cool together. I love the scene with Coach and Lucas, about the Faher and Son game. I love the scene where Peyton freaks out in the gym in front of everyone. I love the way Lucas asks Keith, and then Dan interrups. I love the scene between Karen and Lucas, talking about his name. I love the way Whitey helps out Peyton and share a few things.I love the scenes between Nathan and Hayley, I love their connection. I love the way Lucas jumps in Peytons car, I love the way she tells him about her Mother. I love the scene with Dan and Keith. I love the way Peyton walks through all the boys when they have just come out the shower. I love the way Lucas and Hayley make up. I love the scene between Lucas and Keith talking about the name, and Dan and the game. I also love the scene between Deb and Nathan. I love the scene between Peyton and Lucas. I love the way Peyton is so sarcastic, I love the way Nathan is trying to be all sweet towards her. I love the game scenes. I love way Lucas helps Nathan. I love the ending. All in all, another awesome episode.moreless
in this ep of one tree hill peyton is having problems getting over her mothers death seeing its the anerversary of it. and nathan wants to make up but she is not into it. and nathan and lucas are playing in the father son basketball game and nathan gets humilated by his father dan and lucas is having a good time. and haley continues to tutor nathan even though it really bothers lucas on that. it was a good ep and it shows the show is really growing and that is why i gave it a 8.5 for this one epmoreless
The one thing I noticed about One Tree Hill is its tendency to focus a little too much on conversations among characters. I'm all for great talking scenes, and I'm a sucker for good dialogue, but some of the talks between the characters seem like rehashes from earlier episodes, and thats not a good sign when you're only five episodes into a show that's been around for seven seasons. I still have high hopes, because this episode threw a couple of curve balls. I loved the tension between both Lucas and Nathan as well as Dan and Keith during the Father/Son basketball game. It definitely threw a wrench into the spokes, so to speak. Watching Lucas finally come to terms with the name Scott, even if his father shares it with him, was nice to see. Peyton's side plot was also good, as it gave us a chance to get into her head a little more. The twist I liked was how the basketball game between father and son was less about the rivalry between Lucas and Dan but more about the growing tension between Nathan and his father. I was actually looking forward to Lucas schooling Dan, but the fact that the game was used to show how awful Dan truly is was interesting as well. It shows that he hasn't let go of his high school years quite yet. I really like where the show is going right now. Let's hope they can stay on the same course.moreless

Definitely a good episode, especially with all the Peyton stuff. I liked the red light stuff in the beginning of the episode.moreless
It's the annual Ravens 'father versus son' basketball game, and Keith stands in as Lucas' father. It is also deals with the anniversary of Peytons mums death.
I quite enjoyed this episode, in particular that parts with Peyton. I felt that we got to know a bit more about her, perhaps why she is like she is. I really enjoyed the moments between her and Whitey, I found them quite touching- he really helped her get over her grief (and habit of running red lights!) in a way that I don't think anyone esle could. I loved that Peyton and Lucas' relationship grew a little more in the episode, in a subtle way though- how she opened up to him and told him about her mothers' death and why she runs red lights. Just another little stepping stone to their relationship, and it showed how comfortable Peyton is with Lucas- to open up about something painful to her with someone that she hasnt really know for that long. The 'father-son' basketball game in this episode just helped reinforce the idea that Dan is a complete a$$. Hurting his own son just to win a charity match is a pretty low thing to do- it also served as a reminder for Lucas that he should be grateful that he has Keith as father-figure and not Dan.moreless
Goof: After Dan knocks Nathan down during the father/son game, someone wearing a black uniform and a wedding ring (presumably Dan) grabs Nathan's hand to help him up. When the camera angle changes, Lucas, wearing a white uniform, is the one pulling Nathan to his feet.
Edit
In the beginning of the episode, when Peyton is waiting for the light to turn red, we can see the light is yellow, which means it will soon turn red. But when the camera angle changes the light is suddenly green and then switches to yellow again.
Edit
At 34:48 during the game, there are several very visible dummies in the crowd.

Peyton: She was driving to school to pick me up. She was late, so she ran a red light. It was one light at the wrong split second and it ended for her. My mom ran one red light. I run them all the time and nothing happens. It's not fair.
Edit
Lucas: Hey. I've been thinking about you.
Peyton: Try a cold shower.
Edit
Dan: That was a sloppy turnover, Nathan. That's not like you.
Nathan: That's because it was on purpose.
Dan: On purpose? Why?
Nathan: Because you don't deserve my best game, dad. Look, I could've beat you. You know it and I know it. You know, if you want to mess with that, go ahead. I'll give it to you. (Nathan steps back and Dan shoots) You didn't beat me, dad. You never will.
Edit
Brooke(to Peyton): Look, I'm really sorry things didn't work out with you and Nathan, but don't go all Mariah on me, okay?
