A deeply moving episode with much to say about certain magical moments in our lives.

Raised the series to deeper, more profound level, beyond any formulaic teen angst.

The episode writers deserve real praise.
  • Fun but meaningful.

    8.0
Brooke once again goes through a journey that makes us love her more in All Tomorrow's Parties.

Seeing her out of her depth at the fashion show was quite poignant because she realise how much she loved home and her life. It was a touching moment for the character which ended satisfying when she let loose and danced like crazy at the cheer competition. That's the Brooke Davis we know. Rachel was horrible as usual in how she manipulated Peyton BUT it was nice to see some grief from Peyton about Ellie's death. They are however subtly hinting that she likes Lucas again, quite clever actually.

Haley and Nathan were sweet as always, and Karen proposing to Keith was brilliant. Skills and Bevin added some nice humour, especially when he revealed he could swim all along.

Big episodes approaching and the show won't be the same.

  • The Classic, Part 2

    10
It's time for the Secret Sparkle Classic!!

Peyton is dealing with grief over losing Ellie and finds comfort in a lot of drinks courtesy of Rachel which ends badly when Rachel drops her off in a room with Lucas expecting them to hook up, but Peyton and Lucas wouldn't do that do Brooke (again).

Brooke is in New York for Rogue Vogue, but is not having a good time. She decides to blow it off and joins the girls for the classic. The classic is fun. With Bevin being some what of an idiot and Peyton struggling to keep up after getting drunk the night before they mess up. Brooke saves them from embarrassment by doing the robot and the rest of the girls join in with their own silly dances. I love when the guys join them on stage. It's all just so sweet and so fun.

I wish we had gotten to see the basketball portion of the classic, but Nathan and Lucas hanging out with Tony Battle and his family was fun too though.

I loved Nathan and Haley in this episode!! The bathtub and the next morning when we see they didn't even sleep in the bed. It was all so perfect.

Keith and Karen are great in this episode, but watching it now just breaks my heart. I love that she proposed, but I hate when he says "if the rest of my days are like this I'll die a happy man." It's so heartbreaking!!moreless

Ugh, Whitey can be so annoying. I loved when Brooke asked what Lucas was thinking, and the radio was singing, "Torn between two loves." LMAO! Poor Brooke having to make a decision. Great episode, as always.moreless

  • TRIVIA (19)

    • DELETE

    • When Skills and Bevin are swimming, Bevin says she'll never let him go, just like in the filmTitanic. Skills says that the guy drowned. But actually Jack froze to death, not drowned.

    • As Brooke is exiting the cab in New York, she notices some kids around the advertisement with her model Solaris on it. It is an ad for a cologne called "La Bouche" which is french for "the mouth", the last place you would put cologne.

    • Tony Battle was one of Nathan's team members when he went to High Flyers in the season 3 premiere, "Like You Like an Arsonist."

    • When Brooke suddenly appears before the girls' performance, the dialogue between her and Rachel is the same one on the Midnight Madness in episode 3X05 - "A Multitude of Casualties", except it is said by the opposite person.

    • Goof: After Peyton knocks over the blonde girl you can see Bevin Picking up a brown haired girl, But when the camera changes angle shes back on the floor being picked up again

    • When Lucas Is asking skills why he smells like Vanilla, Theres a cheerleader in the backgroud wearing a purple and yellow uniform who keeps looking at them and the camera

    • The two cheerleaders who do back flip's take off at different beats and land with a lot of space between both there landing spots, Surely this was a bad part ? Rachel was pretty clear that NO ONE could mess up.

    • Goof: When the cheerleaders mess up the routine and everybody is looking embarrassed, just before Brooke begins dancing and is walking to the front of the stage you can see the extra cheerleader who Peyton bumps into and messes up the whole routine with starting to do the chicken dance but then she stops and starts laughing at Brooke along with everybody else and then starts dancing again after.

    • After the Ravens cheerleaders mess up their routine, instead of getting offstage, Brooke changes it up by doing "The Robot" and soon the other girls join in dancing. In Season 1, Lucas does "The Robot" when he is being auctioned off at the Boy Toy Auction in Episode 118.

    • When Lucas lays on the bed, his left leg is over his right leg. In the next shot, his right leg is over his left leg.

    • When Nathan and Haley are laying on the floor, Nathan's necklace is on his chest, in the next shot, its more towards his neck.

    • When Rachel is helping Peyton get to her hotel room, Peyton is holding her hotel key in her left hand. In the next shot it's in her right hand and then back to her left hand.

    • Karen proposed to Keith which is the opposite way things usually happen. It was about a year after Keith proposed to Karen and she turned him down.

    • When Nathan walks into his room and there are candles all over he says, "nice try Lucas but you're still sleeping on the floor." But when they did rock paper sissors Nathan lost and had to sleep on the floor.

    • Lucas tells Brooke that he slept on the floor when she walks in on him and Peyton; however, when Peyton wakes up, Lucas is sitting in the bed under the covers.

    • When Nathan discovers the candles in his room, his jacket is hanging over his right arm. As he walks into the bathroom, its hanging over is left arm.

    • Nathan sits down twice while talking to Lucas on the bus.

  • QUOTES (41)

    • (AJ, Tony Battle's little brother, is bouncing the basketball in front of Nathan)
AJ: What's the matter? Too low for you to grab the ball? Got a bad back, old man?
(Nathan looks up at everybody in shock and disbelief)

    • Nathan: Your mom playing grab-ass on the bus isn't as humiliating as Dan assaulting me in the locker room.
      Lucas: Where is Dan?
Nathan: Official mayor stuff in Tree Hill. He's probably planning an invasion of Raleigh.

    • Rachel: Ok, Peyton, focus. Brooke try to keep up. and Bevin don't be an idiot. We're winning that trophy. Alright lets go.
Brooke: and one last thing girls, have fun.

    • Bevin: Do you remember when we saw Titanic? I'll never let you go.
Skills: That's easy for you to say. cuz the girl lived. But the dude...his ass drowned.

    • Nathan: Well, then there's Chuck Battle. Never had a father in his life, and one generation just changed everything.
Lucas: You could do the same with Haley.

    • Nathan: (to Lucas) Might wanna wipe your eye shadow off before you start talking smack.

    • Daoud: It's the story of a young girl, who's very sad. She's torn between two men. One man is very rich, and offers to take her away from her home and show her all the wonders of the world.
Brooke: So why is she torn?
Daoud: Because the other man, this man she has known all her life, she loves him very much.

    • Tony Battle: (About his father). He says regret makes you old and bitterness poisons the people around you.

    • Battle's younger brother: (About Nathan). He don't look like he got game.

    • Brooke: You ready to talk about her yet?
Peyton: I'm dealing with Ellie's death the way she would have wanted me to. By really living life. And what better way than road tripping to New York in this sweet ride, and then hopping on a plane 9 hours later to Charlotte. Ellie would have loved it.
Brooke: And Rachel is gonna hate it. Win-win.

    • Peyton: (Voiceover) I read a poem once, about a girl who had a crush on a guy that died. She imagined him up in Heaven with all the beautiful angels. And she was jealous. Ellie is gone. I imagine her with the bada** angels now, hanging out with them in their black leather jackets, causing trouble. But I'm not jealous. I just miss her.

    • Haley: Oh hey umm...give me a call if you need anything at all ok?
Peyton: Thanks Haley. I know you're excited about spending time with Nathan though, so don't worry about me.

    • Lucas: (to Brooke) You know, Peyton needs both of us right now.

    • (Drunk Peyton leaning on Rachel who guides her to her room)
Peyton: (singing) And the starts are crying for what we could have had.
      Rachel: Ok, ok.
Peyton: No, I like that line. It reminds me of Luke. Hmm, Jake, Jake.
Rachel: Are you sure you don't mean Lucas?

    • Nathan: Actually, I play better when Dan's there.
Lucas: What? Some kind of twisted good luck charm?
Nathan: No, more like a gun to the head.

    • Tony Battle: Big time.
Nathan: Tony Battle, what are you doing here man?
Tony Battle: I live the next town over, man. So now I get to beat your ass in the tournament not just one on one.
Nathan: Oh hey man, this is Lucas.
Tony Battle: Oh, what's up man? Heard about you. Jump shooter right? Went to see Nate's girl, lied about it.
      Lucas: Oh god.

    • Brooke: What are you more excited about... fashion show or Cheerleading competition?
Haley: Uhh... sharing a hotel room with Nathan.
Peyton: You are so Brooke's roomate.
      Haley: Whatever.

    • Tony's Dad: Aliyah, would you like to say grace?
Aliyah: Thank you Dear God for the lasagna. Thank you also for sending Lucas here, and have him sit next to me, beacause he his really, really fine...
Tony's Dad: Now... That was heart-felt, let's eat!
Lucas: (to Aliyah) Best grace ever!

    • Bevin: I can't. I have this enormous fever. You're gonna have to stay with somebody else. Thanks for driving up the weekend.
Skills: Damn baby you look hot.
Bevin: Oh no I don't really have a fever. That was a lie.

    • Brooke (to Haley): We on schedule, navigation girl?

    • Haley: Oh God this bed is so comfortable. Shall we order room service?
Nathan: Actually let's have a proper sit down breakfast somewhere, family style.
      Haley: Family style sounds perfect.

    • Nathan: Yeah, very funny Lucas. Your ass is still sleeping on the floor.
Haley: Surprise. I switched rooms with Lucas, I don't have to sleep on the floor do I?
Nathan: How'd you manage to switch rooms?
Haley: Well believe it or not Bevin "mastermind" maskey arranged the whole thing.
Nathan: (whispers) Come here. You have any room in there for me?
Haley: I thought you'd never ask. (Nathan jumps in the bath fully clothed) NATHAN!! haha. Come here.

    • Peyton: You never worked so hard for anything in your life, except your fake ID!

    • Lucas: (voice-over) Most of our life is a series of images. They pass us by like towns on the highway. But sometimes a moment stuns us as it happens. And we know that this instant is more than a fleeting image. We know that this moment, every part of it, will live on forever.

    • Keith: You know if the rest of my days are like this, I'm gonna die a happy man
      Karen: Marry me.
Keith: You can't propose to me, I was going to propose to you.

    • Lucas: You know, Peyton, you can learn a lot from Ellie. She struck me as tough.
      Peyton: Yeah.
Lucas: And that's important. But, I also think you can learn a lot from her mistakes. Don't live your life alone. Let us in.

    • Haley: Brooke, what the heck? What about the fashion show?
Brooke: I have the rest of my life for that stuff. Not so much to be seventeen with my friends.

    • Rachel: Look, I was trying to help you out. I'm sorry if it's not what you wanted.
Peyton: You know what? Ya can't see it, but underneath my sunglasses, I'm rolling my eyes.

    • Rachel: Well well. Looks like somebody had a rough night.
Peyton: Says the girl who poured drinks down my throat and then dropped me off in my best friend's boyfriend's bed.
Rachel: Look, I just led ya to the door, sweetheart.
Peyton: We're not giant pandas, ya know. You can't just put us together and expect us to mate. And do me a favor. Talk soft. Ya got a terrible voice.

    • Peyton: How drunk was I last night?
Lucas: Drunk enough to puke six times.
      Peyton: Lemme guess. Rachel?
Lucas: Yeah. Rachel's probably not the best person to use the buddy system with.
Peyton: I feel like you're always rescuing me. Also like there's a giant elephant standing on my head.

    • Rachel: Bevin, quit making an L before you do that move.
Bevin: It's the only way I can remember it's left and not right.
Rachel: Well, stop. It looks like you're making the Loser sign.

    • Keith: Whitey, what are you doing in our room?
Whitey: Don't you mean our room? Oh, the two of you shacked up together in sin. That's a bad example to the children. Ya oughta be ashamed of yourselves.
      Karen: But, uh...
Whitey: Oh, don't worry Karen. I'll take good care of him. Well, what have we got here? Mmmm... truffles.

    • Brooke: I cannot believe that director lady. I hate her. She was wearing white and it is way after Veteran's Day.
      Haley: Labor Day.
      Brooke: Whatever, almanac girl.

    • Girl with clipboard at Rogue Vogue: You know, the schedule has changed.
Brooke: Okay. Good change or bad change?
Girl: Your clothes don't show until tomorrow.
      Brooke: That's a bad change.
Girl: Yeah. Looks like you have a cheer-cision to make.

    • Lucas: Are you drunk?
Peyton: Are you wearing eye shadow?
      Lucas: Working through the pain?
Peyton: Kinda. Everything is going to be all right, right?
Lucas: (very concerned) Yeah. Yeah, it is.

    • Rachel: Sorry I'm not good for a shoulder to lean on.
Peyton: That's okay because I'm not looking for one, but I am looking for another drink.

    • Travis (to Brooke): Watch little girl you're swiming in the deep end now.

    • Peyton: And Brooke doesn't trust you.
      Rachel: And you do?

    • Peyton: Ellie would have love this.
Brooke: And Rachel will hate this. Win Win.

    • Haley: Slugbug. (punches Petyon in the arm.)

    • (Nathan to Haley, while Haley is covered in bubbles in the bathtub)
Nathan: You got any room in there for me?
Haley: I thought you'd never ask.
