  • What could have been a hackneyed cliche, turned into a beautifully crafted and well acted episode...

Using ghosts from the past to teach the protagonist a lesson is hardly a new idea; it spawns even farther back than A Christmas Carol. So when I first learned they were bringing Quentin back from the dead to teach Nathan a lesson about embracing life and living it to the fullest, I was a little irritated. Couldn't they come up with something a bit more fresh, a bit more clever? There are times when I am glad to be wrong and this is one of them. Robbie Jones gave a knockout performance during his speech to Nathan. It was neither cliche nor hackneyed. It was poignant, honest, eloquent and unguarded. For once Q was serious as he dead-eyed his friend and told him that he couldn't let the fear of striking out keep him from playing the game. Or something like that. The raw anguish on Q's face was so believable that tears started to form in my own eyes as I watched them form in his. Robbie Jones outshone James Lafferty (Nathan Scott) in this episode, but perhaps it's because he was given so much to work with. Also great in this episode was the flirtatious interaction between Brooke and Julian. There is definite sparkage between those two. How is it that Brooke and Peyton (and by extension Sophia and Hilarie) always have enormous chemistry with the same men? Speaking of sparks flying, how great was Millicent's little trap? That phone call to Mouth was great. I loved how she set him up, watched him squirm, and finally called him out at the last second, before slamming down the phone. Wow! For someone who first came across like a scared little guppy, she sure is coming into her own. I can't leave without touching on the USO concert which was amazing. Bethany Joy Galeotti (Haley Scott) has a beautiful melodic voice that I could listen to for hours. Kate Voegele (Mia) has pipes like I've rarely heard and she definitely stole the show... that girl is going places. All in all, a well-written, well-crafted, and well-acted episode. It's nice to see One Tree Hill getting back on top where it belongs.moreless

I am soooo happy that Haley finally got up on stage again! i felt bad that she had that nightmare though! wow to Kate Voegele's return I had actually forgot that she was supposed to come on tonight's episode until i read about it on myspace. her new song is absoutely amazing. I loved the song that Kate performed and I am extremely happy that Bethany performed her new song "Feel This" I thought that was awesome. where was Jamie in this episode. this was a very big episode music wise anyways. It's weird that Brooke is adapting again but it's very very good! i am happy that she is making a life for herself. Now to the mouth/gigi/and Millie story line i'm sorry Mark but was that really necessary? I didn't think that Mouth was gunna be such a sleeze to do that to Millie honestly that's what i would've thought right away anyways yea that's my review let me know what you think congratulations Kate you were amazing tonight in this episode!moreless

  • On the night of Peyton's USO show every has their issues to get over.

I love the live music episodes, this one was definatley huge, from the crowd to the acts.

While the whole cast was practically at the show, Nathan stayed behind to rest up and get a visit from Q. Q returned to give Nathan some perspective on his future as a basketball player. Personally i feel that Nathan should be playing ball, even if it is Slamball, it is still his dream.

The whole Julian story is getting interesting, since he met Brooke Davis.

Who definitely is not getting a baby after taking in a teenager, it was so eay to spot by the phone call. I am wondering what this will say for Sam, who began bonding with Mia and Peyton.

The more interesting arc of the night went to Millie who is furious with Marvin over his relationship with Gigi. Gigi is being totally inappropriate as an employee and person, and I cannot wait for more catfights between these two.

Overall it was a typical concert episode, with a few added twists, and I kind of want to know more about Chester's imaginary friend Orville.moreless

In this episode of One Tree Hill, the following happens. Millie comes home early to find Mouth sleeping on the couch and Gigi in his bed. Brooke gets a phone call about a placement for a newborn. In this episode Nathan gets an imaginary friend in the form of Q. Peyton hosts a concert for the enlisted members of the army and marines. Haley has to perform at the concert but is worried in case she forgets the words to her songs. Mia also comes back into town for the concert. Millie goes to see Gigi and warns her off of Mouth. After the phone call this morning, Sam thinks that her days with Broke are numbered and Brooke tells her that she will never ask her to leave. Lucas tells Peyton that he won't be helping Julian with the movie. But Julian has a word with Peyton and says that he doesn't want to make the movie without Lucas as it wouldn't be the same, so she agrees to try and convince Lucas to do the movie. Brooke phones the adoption agency and when she agrees to take the baby she tells them about Sam and they tell her that it complicates things.moreless

This was a pretty good installment of One Tree Hill. I could have done without so much footage of four actual songs, but at least Haley's and Angel and Airwaves' songs were good. I still am not sold on the Marvin, Milly and intern storyline. It was so obvious that she was going to see the hug, that kind of thing has only been done 200 times on One Tree Hill and a billion times on other shows. Pretty much everything else though was good. Finally there's an interesting development for Brooke. I mean she could say anything and be entertaining but at least we're getting some drama with her and Sam. Haley and Nathan are still great together after five years and although the Quentin thing was a little weird it was fun to watch.

Not spectacular but yet another good episode of One Tree Hill.moreless
