This episode was amazing from beginning to end. There were some things that could've been cut out, but I'll focus on Dan right now. I am so sad that he died. It's amazing how much you can feel for characters from a fictional tv show. My eyes actually got a little teary, especially close to the end on the rivercourt where Nathan told Dan he loved him, and Dan said it back. When Dan started crying, I was through (PJ is a really good actor, there are only a few people on OTH who can cry without it looking forced or funny, and he's one of them). Every scene with Dan and other characters, especially Deb was great. I was glad that Dan/Deb got closure, and he told her not to blame herself for Keith's death; I also liked the banter between them. Dan/Haley/Lydia/Jamie was also sad, but sweet at the same time. At least he was able to seehis grandkidsbefore he died. Keith showing up was a good surprise (and CS has totally aged). Anyway, "you're my plus one" was an amazing line. It was good to see Dan/Keith together, even though it meant they were both dead. My thoughts don't seem to be formulating the way I want them to. I thought there was more I wanted to say about Dan, but I guess not. To me, this was the saddest episode of the season.
I honestly thought the stuff about Clay/Logan and Brooke/her dad could've been ommitted (especially Brooke/her dad). When I saw Sara's parents I was thinking where did they come from, and how come Logan hadn't been with them before, but as someone posted previously, the Dr. probably had Logan at the treatment center tohelp jog Clay's memory. As adorable as Logan is, I found myself no longer invested in this SL as much as I was before.
Brooke/her dad were totally pointless. I'll admit, I was even suckered into thinking he might want a real relationship with her, but he doesn't. Most viewers already knew he was abad father, and he wasn't going to change; all of those scenes betweenseemed repetitive from he episode where Brooke thought he wanted to go golfing with her just because instead of discussing business.
I'm also not that crazy about Julian turning Ravens into a tv show. I totally understand that originally OTH was going to be a movie, but Mark decided to turn it into a series, so that's probably why this is being done, but it's basically a rip off of the Dawson's Creek series finale. Even though Dawson didn't write a book, his tv show The Creek was about his experiences as teenager with his friends, just like Ravens was about Lucas' earlier life and experiences with his friends and coming to terms with his relationship with Nathan, Dan, etc. Obviously many of the experiences were different, but the premise is the same, and I honestly don't think it's original, but whatever. I'm still sad the show is ending
