  • Hate...woah.

    8.5
    "Great"
Hate Is Safer Than Love was interesting episode before the finale, and that last moment was pretty hard to watch.

'I hate you. I wish you'd never come back, you ruined my life.' Who'd have thought Lucas would say such things about Peyton? Well he was completely drunk but I felt so sorry for her. She really does seem sorry for what Luke's going through. And this thing about Lindsey seeing someone else, I'm just glad Lucas finally is seeing sense and what's real. I liked Haley haing doubts about another music career, it was nice to look back on the first years and that she's reflecting.

Dan is a little to whiny for me but I do like his friendship with Jamie. And is he going to kill the number one of the transplant list? It was so tense watching Brooke wait for the results of Angie's surgery...glad she's okay. Are they hinting at a relationship between her and her doctor? Deb meeting Skills was too funny...and then weird. Mia coming back was nice but she talks so loudly!

    Finale. time...

  • Mia's back and Angie has her surgery

    9.0
    "Superb"
I love the beginning of this episode. It was something different for One Tree Hill. Showing us 5 things that will happen throughout the episode and then going back to see how those moments occurred.

We see Lucas getting very angry during a game and throwing a ball on the court. We find out that this is because during halftime of that game Lindsey called and said she was dating someone else. And then a player on the other team goes after Q's injured wrist. It sucked that Lucas grabbed that player. It's so unlike him. And then the end really sucked when he told Peyton he hated her, but I know it's not true. He was hurting and he blames Peyton for it because if she hadn't come back he would probably be married to Lindsey completely unaware that he still had feelings for Peyton.

Another clip we see is Brooke waiting in the hospital for the outcome of Angie's surgery. This whole thing is really just a side plot that I don't think was really necessary, but by giving Brooke the chance to be a mom we get to see another side of group and I like this Brooke.

We also see Deb showing her top half to a webcam or something and Nathan catches her. Poor guy, he's probably scarred for life now. It's a little weird that Deb is having an online relationship. It gets creepy when she goes to Tric to meet her mystery man and we discover that it's Skills. Eww!!!!

I loved the clip of Dan getting hit with a water balloon. And I loved the story behind how it happened. It was great how Haley told Peyton about her and Lucas throwing water balloons off the roof. We never saw them do that, but I guess when they got tired of throwing them at each other they would then throw them at other people.

Seeing Jamie walking on the street was a little scary. I can't believe he took off like that after he found the card for Dan in the garbage. What was he going to do walk all the way to Dan's house? I'm glad Haley found him before anything bad happened to him. And it led to a sweet moment between them where she apologized and said she would never lie to him again.

Mia is also back in town, but is going to be leaving again soon. It was nice seeing Mia again and it was funny how she showed up by saying "maybe I just don't like Peyton"

Dan also finds out he is second in line on list for a heart transplant.moreless
  • Wow!!!

    9.5
    "Superb"
Brooke is worried about Angie's surgery as she gets called in. Peyton and Lucas comfort her. Dan is number two on the list for heart transplants. A reverend is number one and Dan wants to be number one. Jamie finds his card to Dan in the trash. Haley apologizes and says she'll never lie again. Jamie gets to give the card to Dan. Mouth has a chance to cover the big Ravens game. Lucas, Skills, Nathan and Jamie's strategy seems to be going well with Quentin as point guard and the team shooting three-pointers, but at half-time, Lindsey calls Lucas and tells him that she's seeing someone. Lucas gets upset and attacks an opposing player. Mouth gets it on film, but when he is asked if he got that footage, he protects his friend but risks his job. Deb meets an online guy and flashes for him. It turns out to be Skills and they have sex. Mia is visiting and Peyton is so happy for Mia's career. Angie is okay after the surgery and Brooke and Dr. Copeland seem to hit it off. Brooke is so happy that Angie will be okay. Lucas seems to start liking Brooke. After Lucas gets drunk, Peyton takes him home. Lucas tells Peyton that he hates her and that she ruined his relationship with Lindsey.

This episode was great! I cannot believe the ending. I feel so so bad for Peyton. I also can't believe that Deb and Skills had sex...that's sort of gross. I love Mia and I loved her song at the end! Beautiful!! I'm so glad that Angie is okay now. I felt so bad when Jamie found his card in the trash. This episode gets a 9.5 out of 10!moreless
  • Lucas is definitely his father's son.

    "Fair"
The ugly side of Lucas ... he is becoming another Dan. If his reaction to the news of Dan's heart wasn't bad enough, as the episode unfolds we realise just how selfish and cold he has become. His character is so ugly now, that it is hard to believe that his friends would continue to like him. He is full of anger and hatred.

Jamie is cute as always....but not believable. He is not the typical 5yr old and it is pathetic that they respond to everything he says and does as though he is a pond of wisdom. He is given way too much credit and it is getting really annoying.moreless
  • like the rest of the season, its painful to watch

I don't understand why they would ruin such a good show!
This episode was pointless up until Lucas gets his DAN on with a TEENAGER on a basketball court. The first 20 minutes of the episode was boring, subtle and well pointless. Yes they were tying up storylines with Brooke and the baby but the storyline between Brooke and the baby was in itself unattractive. We like to see Brooke as a witty independent young successful woman with catchy one liners and a heart of gold, but the storyline of her and the baby does not give Brooke and Sophia Bush any credit what so ever, have they ran out of storylines for Brooke? are they desperately trying to keep Sophia Bush? Or are they trying to take Brooke to a whole new level? MIA... wtf? the way here "comeback" was portrayed was completely overrated, she wasn't a loveable character to begin with! it's not like anyone missed her, she didn't really bring anything to the table, I mean wow she has stage fright, wow she can sing, wow she can go on tour... remind anyone of season 2 HAYLEY? New ideas anyone?
Oh and she totally sucked at the Jeff Buckley cover... wow

LUCAS... so glad something REAL happens to him. Throughout the entire existence of the show, Lucas had been constant, that is constantly the same. Nothing ever changes with him; there has really been barley any character development. He is exactly the same as he was in the first episode of season 1! nothing about his character has changed, every character in the show has transcended to some new level in their life, Brooke: party girl to successful woman, Peyton: grumpy afraid teenager to independent record label owner, Nathan: pain in the ass basketball player to father, Hayley: high school nerd laced with sarcasm to mother and dream setter, Lucas: bruting underprivileged boy to bruting adult who is a writer (which we barely ever see him write) Hopefully with the 'pivotal' news he received will finally make him CHANGE! And become more human rather than a robot with an immortal personality.

PEYTON: meh pine Lucas.... pine... pine.... laugh... pine. That's about it. Oh and the 'I hate you' at the end of the episode, that was a shocker, and well written, if u were in junior year. Couldn't they think of a better line? I mean isn't Lucas a writer could he have thought of something a bit stimulating?

Overall i give this episode a 6, mainly because of the mediocre drama, unoriginal ideas, uninteresting dialogue however I give them credit to the little character development that could pave the path for Lucas to become something a little more real.

On a brighter side, the music selection was great, except for MIA's input. I understand what they writers are trying to convey to the audience, I just think they are missing the mark. I really hope the next episode is better, the season finale can change the whole way someone looks at the entire season. i really wanna hear your feedback, so if u have the time, email me.moreless

    ADD TRIVIA
    • Quentin's jersey number is 44.

    • Mouth's "coverage" of the Ravens game is simply ludicrous. For one thing, the camera he's carrying is an EFP - electronic field production. Though small and lightweight, they are not as high-quality as the ENG (electronic news-gathering) cameras that most any television station would use. Mouth is also taking notes while the game is going on, which is silly because any sports reporter would know to never stop filming - you never know what could happen, and you wouldn't want to run the risk of not getting it on tape. For this reason, stations typically send out a team of a videographer and a reporter to cover something as involved as a sports game.

    • Deb: (sees Skills is her date) Antwon! Oh no. Skills: Oh yeah. Deb: You said you were older. Skills: Hey, you said you was younger. Deb: I showed you... things. Skills: (smiling) Yes, you did.

    • Lucas: So, uh, what's going on with you and Owen?
Brooke: Nothing, apparently. What's going on with you and Lindsey?
      Lucas: Nothing apparently.

    • Brooke: I never told her I love her. I just... I never said it. Lucas: I'm sure when Angie's in your arms she knows it.

    • Dr. Copeland: It's Ethan, by the way... My first name. Brooke: Thank you, Ethan. Dr. Copeland: You're welcome, Brooke.

    • Mia: You know what works? Get him drunk. Peyton: Oh, says the eighteen-year-old. Mia: I'm just saying. You know how it is... guys always tell the truth when they're wasted. Peyton: Says the eighteen-year-old.

    • Peyton: I like your water balloon. Haley: Yeah, Lucas and I used to come up here and throw some off the roof on a bad day. Peyton: What? At who? Haley: Kids, mean people, you know. You'd be surprised at how good it makes you feel. Peyton: Well, speaking of mean people... (Dan is buying a newspaper right below them) Haley: We were just kids then, right? Peyton: You're too mature to be doing that stuff now. But I'm not. (Peyton throws the water balloon off the roof, almost hitting him) Haley: Dude, the guy's gonna have a heart transplant. He's gonna drop dead. Peyton: You didn't tell me that! But you were right. It really, really was fun.

    • Jamie: Hey, Daddy. Knock, Knock. Nathan: Who's there? Jamie: Ya Nathan: Ya, who? Jamie: Yahoo! There's a Ravens game tonight.

    • Lucas: Peyton... I hate you. Peyton: What...? Lucas: I wish you never came back... You ruined my life.

    • Peyton: Haley, don't do it! You've got too much to live for. Dude, Millicent calls, says you're depressed looking, and headed to the roof. I get all freaked out. What's going on, foxy? Haley: I found my five-year-old son walking alone on the street today. You know why? I lied to him. I'm worried I'm wasting your time with this record, Peyton. Peyton: Oh Haley, your record's gonna be great. Haley: Well I hope so, but what about after that? Mia said that her life is so nomadic that she can't even imagine having a family, let alone a serious relationship. I have a husband and a son who need me and a classroom full of students. Peyton: Okay, Haley? It's not wrong for you to want what you want. And you're not Mia.

    • Jamie:You shouldn't lie to me, Mama. Haley: I know, buddy.

    • Skills: You know what heals a broken heart more than anything? Lucas: What? Skills: Bacon. Thank God for Millicent!

    • Lucas: Most of the time, love doesn't really need words.

    • Jamie: How ya feeling dad? Nathan: I'm holding up. Jamie: Oh, well it kind of feels like we slowed down.

    • Brooke: How long's it been? Peyton: About an hour. Brooke: You said that last time I asked. Peyton: I know, honey. You asked, like, thirty seconds ago.

    • Mia: So am I allowed to ask what's going on with you and Lucas? Or is that like saying 'Voldemort'?
