  • Nathan cut his hair!

    9.0
The theme of mothers worked well in It's Alright, Ma (I'm Only Bleeding).

It was nice to see Haley take time away from Jamie and get back into music. It was great seeing her and Peyton working together and eventually finding talent in band member Mia. What was odd was the ending when Haley, who feels as happy as she has done in a long time, finds a picture that Jamie drew of himself...and Nanny Carrie. The shape of things to come and it isn't pretty. I can't help but resent the fact that her and Nathan have just gotten over their problems and now more are surfacing.

Victoria really is horrible but I'm glad that Brooke got support from all her friends. Millicent was especially great in the way she tried to buy that dress in the end. I am loving this new independent Brooke though - she's awesome. Last episode I didn't like how Peyton behaved and she redeemed herself in this one, but it was Lucas who was acting stupidly. It was ridiculous that he told Peyton the bartender wasn't good enough for her and I'm glad she confronted him about it. He needs to stop with these mixed messages he's giving.

And finally NATHAN CUT HIS HAIR. He looks so much better now. And he is better cos he's a loving husband and father again and he's helping Quentin with basketball. Still really don't like Quentin though.

    Great one.

  • Grand Opening Of COB

    9.0
Haley is having trouble reaching out to Q who has walked out of class and has been cut from the team because he won't play a team game. I think it's great that Nathan tries reaching out to him. I'm also glad Nathan finally got a haircut because the only thing worse then the shaved head in season 3 was this mullet look he had going on in these first few episodes.

It's so great that Peyton and Haley are going to work together at the record label with the new band. I also loved the Chris Keller reference. It's so great when these new people like Jason show up and clearly have no idea who these people are because both Peyton and Haley have been successful in the music business and he is acting like he is so much better then them and that their opinions don't matter. And in the end he was proven wrong because they got rid of him and we were left with only Mia who is amazing!!

The opening of COB was great. I love that they all worked together to help Brooke get it ready and it was all so beautiful. Of course B*tchtoria has to ruin it all and be the evil, mean person that she is.

It was so great seeing Lucas and Peyton together in this episode. I want them to get back together so bad!! They belong together!!moreless

I do not want to say that Kevin Federline was stuntcasting, as his appearance probably turned more people off than brought in new viewers, but there had to be a better choice to play this part than the former Mr. Britney Spears. I am no casting director, but come on.

I still do not like this time jump (it's ridiculous how successful they all are) but the Nathan, Q and Haley story arc has some potential here. Quentin is a nice addition to the cast, as anything that brings OTH away from cliched teen drama and back to the basketball court is fine by me.moreless
  • Season 5, Episode 4.

    9.5
Peyton wants Haley to work with Jason on his music but he refuses to. Mouth is involved in a relationship with his boss and age is a factor in it. As the opening of Clothes over Bros approaches, Brooke finds herself in a few problems. Nathan takes strides to help Quentin. This episode's an improvement over the past three, I'd say. "Chris Keller ring a bell?" "Only his own." Haha. :) LMAO, Victoria! "Why does your assistant dress like a Slavic bag lady?" I liked the Peyton and Haley interaction in this episode. And Brooke is still incredibly amazing. :) I love her. Good episode, definitely. I like Mouth's storyline, too. Great episode.moreless

This episode had Brooke's store opening, more of Mouth's storyline and other stuff. It really bothered me that the Nanny is spending so much time with Jamie. I mean, I know it's her job, but it just bothers me. Haley should come home more often too because it's her son and she shouldn't loose that bond that she had with him. Nathan is helping Quentin out; he is just an obnoxious kid. I hope he 'mans' up soon and takes responsibility for his own actions. Brooke's Clothes Over Bros opening, yay! I hated how Lucas told Peyton that that guy wasn't good enough for her.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Goof: When Brooke and Victoria are talking at Clothes Over Bros near the beginning of the episode, Victoria asks who is by the window preparing a mannequin, and Brooke says that it is her assistant, Millicent. The camera briefly focuses on Millicent, and in the foreground, Victoria's lips are moving as if she is still talking to Brooke, but there is no sound coming out of her mouth.

    • When we see actor/rapper Kevin Federline singing in this episode, he is actually just lip-synching the song Mahabharata from the band Radio America.

    • The postcard that Karen sends Lucas says:

Lucas, Your sister misses you and so do I! Love, Mom

    • The little girl in the photo frame on Lucas' desk is the same girl from Karen's dream. She dreamed of her daughter and Keith while she was in a coma at the end of season four. The photo is actually a still frame from the dream sequence.

  • QUOTES (16)

    • Haley: I'm a teacher; I'm supposed to be saving these kids not running them off!

    • Peyton: Hey you roomie! So, I've got a plan on how we deal with Victoria.
      Brooke: Really?
Peyton: Ready? I'll get the shovel and you'll get ten feet of rope. Too much?
      Brooke: Maybe.

    • Lucas: (voiceover) Much as some of us fight it, our parents have a mystical hold over us, the power to affect our thoughts and emotions the way only they can. It's a bond that changes over time, but doesn't diminish, even if they're half a world away, or in another world entirely.
It's a power we never fully understand. We're left only to wonder that when our time comes, what kind of hold will we have on our children?

    • Alice: Hey, if you can't fix this crappy feed, than pick up your next check at the unemployment office.
      Mouth: It's not his fault.
      Alice: What was that?
      Mouth: It's not his fault
the feed's off. You know, if you'd let people here do their jobs right in the first place maybe things would run better.
Alice: In my office. (once the two of them are alone) Never talk back to me in front of the crew again. (pause) But that was kind of hot.

    • Peyton: Hi Mrs. Davis. I just want to tell you, I think it's really great you're supporting Brooke's decision to stay. I know it means so much to her.
Victoria : Of course I support my daughter. But let's be clear. The only reason that Brooke returned to this backwater town, is because her looser friend couldn't cut it in Los Angeles. That's why I'm here, to make sure that my daughter is not completely exploited by her parasitic so called friend. So you get
your little act together before you ruin her life too.

    • Lucas: I'm building a team. You play your part and do as I say or you are gone. So we're clear.
Quentin: Look we both know I'm the best shooting guard in the state. So why don't we just cut the crap, uh? I'm not playing no zone defense. Matter of fact, I might not play no deffense at all. And on offense, I need my minutes. So I'm play when I want and I'm sit when I want. And that weak-ass point guard? Find somebody that's gonna feed me the ball, man. You do that, you can stand on the sideline, hold your little clipboard, and watch me work. And when we win, I might even let you take the credit. Oh, you can call me "Q" coach. I like you man, but, uh, that's how it's gonna go. Just so we're clear.

    • Victoria: Good God. What is that?
Brooke: That is my assistant Millicent.
Victoria: Tell me again why you have an assistant, who dresses like a Slavic bag lady.

    • (Skills entering Mouth's bedroom)
      Mouth: Do you ever knock?
      Skills: What's that?
      Mouth: I don't smell anything.
Skills: Perfume. Yeah, Channel 5 Elixir - choice of a classy older woman. Ooh! Claw marks! (Pulling Mouth's blanket) Somebody tussled with a cougar last night.
Mouth: You're out of your mind.
Skills: It was your boss lady, wasn't it? Uhhuh! Damn, I knew it! Office dragon lady by day, sex machine to entry level chumps by night.
Mouth: I don't know what you're talking about.
Skills: My boy you need to ask for raise! Whoo!

    • Jamie: Daddy can we play ball again now?
Haley: No you already off sweetie maybe later.
Jamie: I could play everyday. He shoots he scores, straight.. to the hole glass!
(dunks the ball into the bowl)

    • Peyton: I'm really sorry about Jason.
Haley: It's okay. I've worked with self-centred musicians before. Chris Keller ring a bell.
      Peyton: Only his own. (laughs)
      Haley: Ha...Ha...Ha.

    • Peyton: Brooke... you're doing great. (smiles)

    • Lucas: (voiceover) My name is Lucas Scott. Four years ago I graduated from high school with my friends and we all went our separate ways. Recently we've all come home. My ex-girlfriend, Peyton, is starting a new record label and she's also getting to know my girlfriend Lindsey... sort of. Haley just hired a nanny, for her son Jamie, because her husband Nathan has been in a wheelchair but now seems to be recovering in more ways than one. Mouth started a job and other things with his new boss Alice. Brooke opened a local store for her fashion line but she also found that sometimes your problems follow you home. Like I said we're all home now, maybe hoping that the things we were looking for, were here in Tree Hill all along.

    • (Lucas coming in and sees Peyton and the bartender talking)
      Lucas: Hey, ready to go?
Peyton: Hey, uhm actually I think i'm going to stay so, goodnight.
      (Whispers in her ears)
Lucas: He is not good enough for you.
(Lucas walks outside and Peyton rushes after him)
      Peyton: Hey don't do that.
      Lucas: Do what?
Peyton: He's not good enough for you? I don't want you saying things like that to me, Lucas. That's not fair to me, it's not fair to Lindsey either!

    • Victoria: Beautiful things die in Tree Hill. Why do you think we left?

    • Lucas: (reaching out to touch Peyton for a brief moment) Hey, how is the new band going?
Peyton: I thought it was gonna be all good times and groovy tunes and nobody warned me about obnoxious self-righteous musicians.
Lucas: (again touching her shoulder) Look, you've always been capable of a lot more than you give yourself credit for.

    • Brooke: The dress is on me.
Haley: No, I can't let you do that.
Brooke: I can do anything I want. It's my party. Think of it as a present for taking such good care of my god-son. (to Nathan) Sorry I don't have anything for you Nate.
Nathan: Oh, that's a present for me too.
