  • Lindsey gives a peace-offering in the form of a lucky bamboo to Peyton, Haley tries to convince Quinten to return to school, the new raven b-ball team shows alittle promise and Nathan begins to make changes to begin anew after his accident.moreless

    9.5
I think that this episode was great! Dan finally makes his way back into the storyline. Dan Scott does deserve to stay in prison, but the advise he gave Nathan must have really struck a cord with him because Nathan really begins to start to change hows he has been behaving for the last couple of months.

Brooke meets a new challenge as the character of her mother (her agent type person) being introduced. One has to speculate whether this new found interest in her daughter has anything to do with the fact that her daughter now has money (remember in season one/two Brooke's mother really didn't any concern for her or anything that happened to her).

Haley tries to convince Quinten to return to school. I think this was really big of her after the way Quinten treated her in her class - but then again it is Haley (whos all for second chances with people).

Lindsey I have to say comes across as a try-hard. No matter how many lucky-bamboo trees she gave other people its so clear that she is threatened by Peyton and its so pathetic to see her try and bring Peyton on as a friend in the hope that maybe she will be less inclinded to start up an relationship with Lucas again (I think she done the same thing with Brooke as well - well thats my prediction anyway!)moreless
  • Nathan finally sees sense.

    8.5
My Way Home Is Through You continued this seasons plots along nicely and finally saw some hope for Nathan and Haley.

Yes, after the past two episodes being full of tension and arguments between them, Nathan finally decided to make an effort and that final scene with them was so touching. It was really sad to see Haley not wanting to go home but her face when she saw Nathan and Jamie at the dinner table was lovely. Just such a sweet moment. However his scenes with Dan weren't that effective for me. I'm kind of over Dan...

Meanwhile, while I'm not Lindsey's biggest fan I thought Peyton behaved kind of horribly in this episode. She really had no right to challenge Lindsey about the bamboo plant she gave her for good luck. I mean get over it Peyton. I'm glad she eventually realised she wasn't very nice. And she did kick ass in signing that band. I loved how the show revealed that Victoria was Brooke's mother. At the time it really was a shocker and they way they kept it in the dark was genius. I also like how Brooke is using Karen's cafe for her new shop.

Lucas and Skills working with the team was fun and the end where they actually start making shots was satisfying. I don't care much for Mouth sleeping with his boss...

    Another good one.

  • Dan's back

    9.0
Nathan is beginning to walk again, but not without a bit of stumbling and he goes to see Dan. So much for him and Lucas deciding in the season 4 finale that they would never go see him, but it was nice to see Dan again. Jamie's little shrine to Nathan was great. He loves his dad so much and is so proud of his accomplishments. I just wish Nathan could be proud of them and get rid of the regret he is caring of what could have been because that is a very Dan like attitude and can only lead to trouble. I love that Naley is finally getting back on track in this episode. I miss them being that couple that I love that makes be believe in true love.

Peyton has started her label and finds a band she likes to sign. The band is great, but the singer is a jerk. It was cool for her having Haley there to check them out too because Haley knows good music, too. She is just starting out, but Peyton is going to be great with this label.

Lucas stayed up all night writing and I love that Lindsey knew the reason just like I did. He stayed up all night because he was inspired by Peyton because he still loves her and they belong together!!

Brooke buys a house which is absolutely beautiful and I love that the cafe is being transformed into a new store for COB. And in an unexpected turn of events the well..b*t*h that met who works for Brooke is revealed to be her mother, Victoria Davis. Wow!! I hated her before I knew she was Brooke's mom, but that fact that she is her mom and treats her that way i worse. It makes me hate her even more!!

And Mouth, eh...he is sleeping with his boss. This is so not Mouth. He is so not that guy.moreless
  • was an ok episode of OTH

    7.5
Just watched this episode last night and thought that it was quite good! We get to see Dan for the first time this series and Nayley look like they are getting back on track (yay - I love Nayley!!). Jamie is so sweet also!!! We also get to meet Brooke's mum - well she is revealed anyway and I don't like her at all!

Peyton has a bit of a run in with Lindsay - over a lucky bamboo!

Overall, I thought this episode was ok - to be honest I haven't been that excited about any of the 3 episdoes of One Tree Hill series 5 yet - but I am hoping that they will get better as time goes on!moreless

I loved that Brooke opened her store, Clothes Over Bros. I think it's cool that she opened it in Karen's Cafe. I don't like Mouth's storyline. His boss, Alice, is annoying, and they just totally degraded his character. I hate how the Nanny keeps talking to Nathan. Seriously, she shouldn't talk anymore, it bothers me. I loved the ending. It was so cute that Nathan and Jamie dressed up and made a dinner for Haley. She has been through so much and had to deal with Nathan. That was my favorite scene and I loved how Nathan realized that he had to be a 'man' again.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (7)

    • When we see actor/rapper Kevin Federline singing in this episode, he is actually just lip-synching the song Dry Ice and Strobe Lights from the band Pilot to Gunner.

    • The car driven by Haley was a Silver Range Rover.

    • Continuity: Peyton and Brooke are on the balcony in Tree Hill, watching the sunrise and looking at a beautiful boat harbor. In episode 2.1 "The Desperate Kingdom of Love," Lucas is looking at a similar sight in Charleston and Keith says, "Ah, they don't have a view like this in Tree Hill."

    • Out of four seasons, this episode marks the first time we have seen Haley driving a car.

    • When Haley gets home, it is raining. But after dinner when Nathan and Jamie go out to play basketball it isn't raining. It's not even wet.

    • When Nathan comes to visit his dad in prison, Dan notes that it's been four years, fifteen weeks and two days since they last saw each other, and not four years, six months and two days like the title of the premiere. A possible reason for this may be that Nathan went to his trial or saw him before he was tranferred to the state prison he is in now.

    • After Mouth gets fired, he decides to go tell off his boss. When he enters her office the door is open. When they start making out, you see them moving towards the couch, the door is now closed yet no one closed it.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Carrie: Did you just walk down the stairs?
Nathan: If by walking you mean falling!

    • Brooke: (to a worker in her new shop) Excuse me! Uhm.. We're gonna keep this. This belongs here.
(she's looking at a sign saying: "Somebody told me that this is the place where everything's better and everything's safe.")

    • Lindsey: Wow!.. Did you write all night?
Lucas: Yeah, I guess I did.
Lindsey: The question is how much of it survived the 'delete' button?
      Lucas: Almost all of it.
Lindsey: You must be ready to pass out!

    • (Haley sees Nathan and Jamie at the table)
      Haley: What is this?
      Nathan: It's the beginning.
      Haley: Of what?
Nathan: Of the way it's going to be from now on. I know it's going to take a lot more than dinner, but i figure it's a start right?
      Haley: I missed you.

    • Skills: Girls are so predictable.
      Mouth: She's not a girl she's a woman.
      Skills: She is a cougar.
Mouth: Well, whatever she is, she hates me, and it's getting worse every day.
Skills: That's called "sexual tension," dog.
Mouth: You need to stay off the internet.
Skills: No, I'm serious. Look, last year, I had this professor, right? She kept on riding me all semester, dog, I mean, and not in a good way. But one day, she started bitching at me after class. I planted one on her.
Mouth: You did not. There's no way you did that.
Skills: That's not all I did. I'm telling you, hook it up.
Mouth: You have finally lost touch with reality. Oh, and by the way, next time you decide to stop by my work, try not to yell out "early lunch thursday!".
Skills: Okay, I'm telling you, I think you're gonna miss out on some hot cougar love.

    • Dan: Tell me about the accident.
Nathan: It was a moment of anger. I had a chance to walk away, and I didn't do it. And now my punishment is... I get to regret it every day for the rest of my life.
      Dan: Join the club.

    • Haley: I think your team looks really good.
Lucas: The J.V. is the team in white. The blue yeah, those are mine. We're a work in progress.
Haley: Awkward. I'm gonna go to class now. I'll see you later.
Lucas: Haley, how's my little brother doing?
Haley: He's a work in progress.

    • Peyton: Brooke, this place looks great. Think, if I can't sign any bands
soon, maybe I can get a job here?
Brooke: I'm sorry, darling, you're not nearly bitchy enough to work in one of my stores.

    • Peyton:(to Brooke's mom as she leaves) Good-bye Mrs. Davis. (to Brooke) Well... Your mom's still a bitch. What are you going to do?
      (Brooke looks at her helpless)

    • Haley: (to Carrie) I think I'm realizing that I can't help everybody, and still somehow feel responsible. I don't know why I keep trying.

    • Lindsay: Lucas tell you he wrote all night?
Haley: No, I thought he's been blocked.
      Lindsay: Guess he got inspired.
Haley: Oh, that's good. (After seeing Lindsay's worried expression) Isn't it?
Lindsay: Yeah. Yeah, as editor I'm thrilled obviously but as his girlfriend I can't help but notice the timing.
Haley: Oh, you're talking about Peyton coming back?

    • Lucas: (voice-over) My name is Lucas Scott. Four years ago, I graduated from high school with my friends. Brooke Davis went to New York City and found success...Peyton Sawyer went to Los Angeles. I wrote a novel and fell for my editor, Lindsey. Recently, we've come home. Now Brooke's opening a local boutique for her fashion line. Peyton Sawyer is starting her own record label. My best friend Haley started teaching...but it hasn't been easy. Nor has it been easy for her husband, Nathan, who in a moment of anger watched his dream of playing professional basketball vanish. A lot has changed since high school...but in many ways, our journey is just beginning.

    • Haley: (to Lucas) Peyton is not just another ex-girlfriend and everyone knows that.

  • NOTES (4)
