Instead of the typical "Previously on One Tree Hill" from Chad Michael Murray, Sophia Bush says: "Okay, here is what you need to know". However, this recap includes a scene that never aired in the previous episode: Brooke telling Lucas how Felix and his family went on a cruise in the middle of the week, leaving her to fend for herself in her school election for president. In the previous episode, Felix was very much a part of her campaign.
There is a mistake in the scene with Jake and Peyton. As she is talking about sleeping in separate bedrooms, there is a blinking red light on the blinds that looks very much like a camera.
When Nathan and Karen are at the basketball court, in one shot you can see Nathan's lips keep moving even after he had finished speaking.
Bevin: Brooke, the cheer-leading squad needs you so much more than America does!
Brooke: Bevin, you realize I'm not running for President of the United States, right?
(Nathan answers the door and sees Dan, Deb, & Lucas)
Nathan: Look who it is: the Scott family.
Dan: Sorry, I thought my son lived here. Kinda looks like you, only less pathetic.
Lucas: (Turns up at Nathan's doorstep) Dude, you look like ass.
Nathan: You should smell me.
Lucas: You know, I haven't seen you around school lately. You mind if I come in?
Nathan: Actually, umm, now's not really a good time.
Lucas: You know man, I'm really missing Haley. She didn't even bother to call me. It must be harder for you.
Nathan: Yeah. It's 12 weeks, I'll be fine. We'll work it out when she gets back.
Lucas: I'm just concerned, man.
Nathan: Yeah, well don't be. Thanks.
Brooke: And then Haley changed Nathan, for the better. But I think she really misses that challenge.
Peyton: You really think she changed Nathan?
Brooke: Yeah. I mean, before Haley, Nathan was like the bad boy of Tree Hill. And now he's just pod Nathan.
Ms. Hand: Okay, please tell me you are not drinking beer in my class.
Nathan: Technically, it's malt liquor...
Ms. Hand: Nathan!
Nathan: It's okay, I brought enough to share.
Ms. Hand: Come with me, please.
Nathan: That's a nice skirt, Ms. Hand. You know, if more teachers dressed like sluts, attendance in this place would skyrocket.
Lucas: (voiceover) Octavio Paz once wrote: Solitude is the profoundest fact of the human condition. Man is the only being who knows he is alone.
Mouth I'll speak for her. We just heard Principal Turner read a list of Erica's accomplishments. I could try to do that for Brooke, but it would be kind of a short speech... As you know, Brooke's probably one of the most popular people in school. Something I'm definitely not... and yet, she's my friend. She never cared what clique I was part of, the kinds of clothes I wore or the fact that I have to ride the bus. She looked past that stuff. And when you think about it, isn't that what we want in our President? Someone who can see past the superficial differences and bring us together? This year, Brooke's had her share of ups and downs... just like all of us. But most of you never saw it, cause even when life got hard, Brooke never let it in. She was just Brooke; tough, smart, one of a kind... And I don't know about you but those are things that I look for in a leader. Brooke Davis is my friend. But that's not why I'm voting for her. I'm voting for her because of her heart and her spirit and because she's the best person for the job.
