After all of the doubt and uproar over this season without CMM and Hilarie, OTH has finally proven us all wrong. This is my first review on here EVER, which shows you how much this episode inspired me. Everything was perfect tonight. It was a powerful episode from Dan finally turning into a human & redeeming himself to Brooke's storybook ending with Julian yet again turning into pain. And Clay, despite being somewhat of a dorky character, is a pretty good character and totally kicked some butt. Although in the real NBA that deal would have never happenned, but who's counting? I'm still not sure how I feel about him and Quinn, but they're still great additions to the show reguardless. I got a great sense of Deja Vu watching Haley pack a bag onto the bus. I felt like she was going to look up and see Chris Keller, haha.
Dan really stole the show though. He finally realized the fraud life he'd lived, and it was almost sad to see him leave. I think they need him on the show - I wish they'd keep him. It was also great to see Nate kind of show him forgiveness at the end.
I'm torn on Brooke's story a bit. Seeing Julian sort of "pick" Alex isn't very realistic because it's clear that Brooke is lightyears above Alex in every category. However, Brooke's sadness is very believable and you just have to feel bad for her.
And finally, the MUSIC of the episode really added to the powerful emotion the episode held. We often look past this aspect, but my god I think the music is one of the biggest characters in the show. Great score tonight.
In conclusion, the acting was phenominal tonight, and this show is in top form again. It's a wonderful sight to see with all of the average episodes dating back to season 5. With these new characters, I truly believe this thing could last another season, but you still have to bring Leyton back for the end, because the show really was all about them in the beginning, but that's a story for another time. Great work.moreless
