I absolutely ADORE this episode. It's fantastically well written, pivotal, and revealing. And my favorite couple is finally sharing a defining moment after so long.

Nathan decides to go to High Flyers for the summer, and Deb lets him know of her plans for her and Nathan to get away from Dan for good. Peyton is missing Jake like crazy and Brooke is there to comfort her. Nathan and Lucas clash over Lucas' trip to see Haley, and Nathan vows to never be friends with Lucas again. Peyton meets Ellie, who claims to be writing an article and needing Peyton's help - but Peyton gets a shock when she later insists she is actually her mother. Brooke is still reeling from the shock of finding Peyton's stuff in Lucas' room. Lucas has a sexy dream about Brooke, who assumes he had one about Peyton. Dan has various clashes with people - Whitey, Andy, Deb, Karen, Lucas; all of whom share a mutual hatred for him and he insists he feels the same way. Haley leaves the tour and turns up on Nathan's doorstep. Lucas says goodbye to Brooke as she leaves for the summer, but not before revealing his true feelings for her. Dan's dealership is set on fire by a mystery person, and Dan is there as it happens.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The Brooke/Lucas 'I wanna be with you' scene is my all-time favorite scene of the show so far, as the song 'Wires' by Athlete plays, the lyrics "I see it in your eyes" coinciding with Lucas kissing Brooke and them looking meaningfully into each others eyes. Chad impresses me as (playing Lucas) he tells Brooke how he really feels about her and vows to never want to be apart from her again. And thrilling cliffhanger scene in the end montage. It's just an excellent, classic OTH episode.moreless

this epp and the first part has the best voice over and the best bit is that its by everyone has a say
    these are my fav

Brooke: And once you lose yourself, you have two choices. Find the person you used to be or lose that person completely.

Nathan: And losing your way on a journey is unfortunate but losing your reason for the journey, is a fade more cruel

my fav bit of this epp has to be the ending where lucas tells brooke how he feels befor she leaves for the summer. if your a die hard brucas fan like i'm than watching this kills you. i wish that they would of have more like lucas gose to the airport and looks for her something that leaves it less sad than what they did.

pus when haley come back and tell nathan thats she wants to come home. i think that everone was happy but still mad i love this eppmoreless

amazing, this episode is really quite good, i think that it is a really good ending to a a xlassic series, every charcater portrays themselves really well and they should be proud of there acting abilities, the ending especially is a real cliffhanger for the views becasue people dont know if dan is dead or who has done this. is sets the next series up to be a classic. i dnt really know who it could be, either deb because she wants a way put, or nathan because he resents his father and the way he has treated him or maybe lucas because he finally wants to get rid of dan for everything he has done in the past, or maybe keith because there has alwys been hostility between them and he stiched him and jules up.moreless

  • Season 2, Episode 23.

    9.5
    "Superb"
In the first part of the two-hour season finale, things heat up between Lucas and Brooke after they head to New York for an overnight stay with Haley. Peyton is elated when she gets Jimmy Eat World to perform at TRIC just in time for Jake's release from jail. Meanwhile, Andy invites Karen to spend the summer with him in New Zealand. Ah, part 2. Very good episode, definitely. I know how the fire thing ends, but it's obvious that you're supposed to think that Andy set the dealership on fire. But I know that Deb really did it, and it was foreshadowed when she said, "We'll be free soon" throughout the episode. Lucas and Peyton are the only ones left in Tree Hill, or so they think, after Haley unexpectedly returns. :)moreless
