When Haley & Nathan enter their apartment after going home from the hospital, Haley notices the new mural. Nathan says it is the London Bridge. In fact the bridge is actually Tower Bridge. This is a very commonly made mistake.
When Dan visits Karen you can see a sort of white pot. That pot was used in earlier seasons in Karen's café as an coockiedrum.
When Skills is asking Lucas to talk to Whitey about Skills joining the Ravens, the back of his shirt reads 23. That is the same number as Nathan's jersey. In a later episode Lucas gives Skills his old number 3.
It is evident that the new bridge scenes were filmed well after the original scene due to the trees in the background changing from being completely bare to full of leaves.
In this episode at the beginning when Nathan is in the car drowning he has a mole on the left hand side of his face. He doesn't appear to have this in any of the other episodes.
In the opening scene right after the Lucas jumps off the bridge, when they cut back to Haley and Karen, in the left side of the screen someone in a white shirt and black pants is just making it out of the shot but you can clearly see their elbow and one leg. This is about 4 minutes and 46 seconds in to the show and only lasts for maybe a split second.
Rachel's hair is noticably longer then it was in the finale.
Deb: You son of a bitch! Dan: No. No, that would be Nathan. You see, he's the son, you're the bitch.
Skills: All right, I was kinda thinking about trying to go to college but money kinda tight right now, Anyway, I know you had to leave the team because of your heart condition and all that but I was thinkin maybe the Ravens could use another shooting guard. Lucas: You wanna join the Ravens? Skills: If it's gonna get me a scholarship. I mean, look, I know it's a long shot but you never know, they might actually make a run in the post season and somebody might actually get to see me play, you know, Small D2, Juco whatever, just wondering if you could talk to Whitey for me. Lucas: Absolutely! Skills: Hey, look, I just wanna try out, dawg. I'm not axin' for no special treatment or nothin' just a chance. Lucas: I hear you, man, I was there, I'll talk to Whitey. Skills: Cool, good lookin' out!
Brooke: I'd like to talk to my boyfriend, alone. Nice job not hitting on him. Peyton: Luke, I'll get those CDs later. Thanks for the sex. (Peyton leaves) Lucas: She was just kidding. Brooke: Listen, I know it's been difficult for you lately, losing Keith and your heart condition and giving up basketball. I feel like I've been keeping you close to me to try to protect you from those things. Like I'm hanging onto the two of us for you, but not for me. Lucas: I'm sorry I kissed Peyton. I should have told you. Brooke: It's not about that Luke. It's not, I mean I thought that it was, but this is not about her. This is about me. I love you Lucas, and I probably always will, but we go days without having a meaningful conversation. And I used to miss you so much when that happened but it never seemed like you missed me. And I guess because of it I stopped missing you. I mean look at today, there was a horrible accident and you haven't even called me...it shouldn't be like this, Luke. I'm sorry. I can't do this anymore. Lucas: Brooke, I'm sorry. Brooke: Yeah, me too.
Nathan: (to Haley) Today, for the first time in a long time, it doesn't feel like anything's going to be okay.
Rachel: I really screwed this up Mouth. I mean, we were fighting and I grabbed the wheel. I have to get out of here. Mouth: You can't run away from this Rachel. Rachel: He could die Mouth. Mouth: Listen to me, you know how you said you were going to tell everyone you opened the time capsule and I said not to, that you should burry it? I was wrong. And until you face all the mistakes you've made, you'll never change. Rachel: People don't change Mouth. Mouth: But they can, they just don't because it's easier not to. We're always waiting for our lives to begin and figuring we'll be someone else someday. But after this accident, and losing Jimmy, and Keith, what are we waiting for? All we have is now Rachel. Don't run from this.
Lucas: Brooke kind of found out that I kissed Peyton, again. Skills: Well, it's a good thing you're in a hospital, 'cause your sorry ass in bad shape bro.
Lucas: (to Nathan) So what, wedding wasn't enough. You needed even more attention?
Karen: We need to talk about this pregnancy. Lucas: Keith would be so happy. I mean, I can't believe you're having his baby. Karen: I'm not talking about that pregnancy. Whose test did you find at the reception? Was it Brooke's? Lucas: I'm not sure yet. Karen: I'm your mother Lucas, and considering that I was pregnant at 17, I just want to know if history is repeating itself with my son and his girlfriend.
(Peyton and Lucas in Lucas's room talking about music like in the good old days) Lucas: When was the last time we just hung out? Peyton: Just the two of us? I don't know. Probably the day we hid out in the library and I got shot in the leg.
Karen: I am all for living life to the fullest, but can this day just be over already? Lucas: Mom, you loved Dan, right? In high school? Karen: Oddly, yes. Lucas: Okay, I know you probably can't answer this for me, but what did you do when he didn't love you back? How did you get over it? Karen: When I do, I'll get back to you.
Lucas: (voiceover) My name is Lucas Scott. I'm a senior at Tree Hill High School. I play basketball -- at least I used to. I have a girlfriend -- at least I used to. And I have a best friend. Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe it's a lot like your world, maybe it's nothing like it. But if you look closer, you might see someone like you. Someone trying to find their way. Someone trying to find their place. Someone trying to find their self. Sometimes it seems like you are the only one in the world who's struggling, who's frustrated, unsatisfied, barely getting by. But that feeling's a lie. And if you just hold on, just find the courage to face it all for another day, someone or something will find you and make it all okay. Because we all need a little help sometimes-someone to helps us hear the music in their world, to remind us that it won't always be this way. That someone is out there. And that someone will find you. (At Lucas' final words we see a shot of Lucas showing up at Peyton's and they hug)
Lucas: (voiceover) I guess I should have said something, anything. I mean for a guy who wants to be a writer, it suddenly seemed like no words had ever been written. When someone tells you that they somehow stopped missing you, you're pretty much screwed no matter what you say. See, but there had to be something right? Something that no one had ever said in the history of the world, something that could change this. That wasn't it.
Lucas:(voiceover) Dan Scott is many things: the mayor of Tree Hill, the once great hight school basketball player and Nathan's father. He's also my father, but he never claimed me. Believe it or not, I got the better end of the deal. I was instead raised by my mom with the help of my Uncle Keith, until Keith's life was taken.
Lucas: (voiceover) The things that take 14 minutes: boiling an ostrich egg, Michael Jackson's Thriller video, it also takes 14 minutes to get from the Melina Bridge to Tree Hill Hospital. In those 14 minutes, three lives hung in the balance. For the rest of us there was nothing to do but wait. I guess that's why they call it the waiting room.
Dan: Karen, would it be the strangest thing if we grab a cup of coffee sometimes. Karen: I have given up coffee through my pregnancy. Dan: Movie then? Karen: No! Dan: You have given up movies too? Karen: No. I just don't want to go with you.
Brooke: Okay, so mission accomplished. I got those scissors you wanted, some music, a couple of outfits, which remind me, clothes over bros should totally design hospital gowns because I would not be caught dead in that. (Rachel looks down) Brooke: Sorry. Rachel: Do you think people can change, Brooke? I mean, truly change? Brooke: Well, I'd like to say yes, but honestly? I don't really think people can change. You know, at the end of the day, you are who you are. And at the end of the day, it's probably who you've always been. Rachel: What if who you've been is pretty horrible? Brooke: I brought you back your house keys. It's a very nice house. Big rooms, no parents - I used to have one of those. Rachel: Keep 'em. (Brooke looks inquisitive) Rachel: I mean, you moved out of Peyton's place, right? You might as well crash at my house. Unless you don't want to. Brooke: So, this is what it looks like when hell freezes over? (smiles from both) Brooke: Thank you.
Brooke: I love you, Lucas, and I probably always will... but we go days without having a meaningful conversation... and I used to miss you so much when that happened... but it never seemed like you missed me. And I guess because of it I stopped missing you. I mean look at today... Lucas: (Thinking) I guess I should've said something... anything... I mean, for a guy who wants to be a writer, it suddenly seemed like no words had ever been written. But when someone tells you that they somehow stopped missing you, you're pretty much screwed, no matter what you say.
(Brooke is coming into Rachel's hospital room, she seems to be sleeping) Rachel (eyes closed) : Slut Brooke: Bitch Rachel : Whore (Brooke comes closer to the bed, Rachel is awake) Rachel: Well, I know I'm not in Heaven cause they wouldn't have let Brooke Davis's kinky ass through the gates. Brooke: And your ass wouldn't fit, at least not the old one. How are you?
Skills and Lucas are in the hospital. They see Peyton coming toward them. Skills: Hey, try not to make out with her, please!
Rachel: Maybe the age difference doesn't matter. Cooper: It does matter, all right?? Now listen to me we're going to take this limousine back to the wedding and you and I never happened. Rachel: Is there anything I can say to keep you Cooper?? Cooper: No I'm sorry there's not. Rachel: Well that's too bad because there's something I have to tell you. I'm pregnant. Cooper: I don't believe you.
Nathan: (laughing) Haley: What?? Nathan: I can't believe that Rachel got drunk and stole our wedding limo. Haley: I can't believe your Uncle Cooper slept with Rachel..she's 17. What is he, like 30?? Nathan: He must not have known, I mean he couldn't have known, right??
Nathan: Hey,um! Before the accident, there was something you wanted to tell me. Haley: I got accepted to Stanford. Nathan: Wow! I'm happy for you, Haley. Even though we just spent your tuition money. Haley: It's alright! We'll figure something out. As long as we are together.
Haley: Nathan, you're a hero. You did everything that you could. Nathan: Did I?
Rachel: They told me that Nathan saved my life. How is he? Haley: How is he? He's devastated, Rachel and it's all your fault! Rachel: Haley? Haley: I saw you in the limo with Cooper. You were arguing with him, weren't you? Rachel: It wasn't what it looked like. Haley: You ruined everything. You caused a huge scene at the reception. You stole the limo. And now everybody's life is worse because of you. Doesn't it even matter to you, a little bit? Are you going to change a single thing because of it? Nathan doesn't need your thanks and neither do I. So why don't you stay the hell away from us. All of us!
(Haley looks at the re-decorated apartment) Nathan: I was going to surprise you when we got back. It's the London Bridge. (Haley puts her hand on his cheek) Haley: Thank you. Nathan: It's probably a good thing we didn't go... I mean the wedding wasn't cheap, now we have new furniture to pay for and.... can't wait to get those hospital bills especially considering we don't have insurance. (Nathan has a flashback) Haley: It's okay. You're safe... you're home now.
Dan I guess you caught me red-handed.
Young Keith: It looks like I'm not the only one who knows you killed me. Dan: (talking to Keith's ghost) Shut up, you little smart-ass ghost.
Lucas: When someone says that they have stopped missing you, your pretty much screwed no matter what you say.
Lucas: (voiceover) My name is Lucas Scott and I'm a senior at Tree hill High School. Tree Hill is just a place somewhere in the world. Maybe its a lot like your world. Maybe its nothing like it. But if you look closer you might see someone like you. Or someone like my best friend Haley. If you're married and a senior in high school and not sure if your husband is still alive. Then I'll say your world is a lot like Haley's. Today was supposed to be the best day of her life. But its amazing to see how things can change in the blink of an eye. Or in this case 29 minutes.
