The voiceover at the end of the episode was previously used at the end of season 5 episode 13, "Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace".

Chris: (after a bigger guard comes out) What happened to the little Marty The Midget-size guy?
Marty the Midget, played by Danny Woodburn, was the guy who Nathan and Chris played poker with in season 3 episode 9, "How a Resurrection Really Feels."
Goof: When Quinn is holding her phone next to Clay's to install the tracking app, she turns around to talk to Clay with her hand up by her shoulder. When the camera angle changes, her hand is by her side.
Nathan's voiceover at the beginning and end of the episode is taken from Shakespeare's play "The Tempest".
Madison replaces the red heart shoelace from Jamie with a black shoelace after he ignores her to be with the boys. This is similar to Lucas painting the red door in his bedroom black after Brooke sleeps with Chris Keller in season 3.
The opposing players at Jamie's baseball game have the words "Davola's Pizza and Pasta" printed on the back of their jerseys. This is a possible reference to Joe Davola, an executive producer for the series.

This episode's plot is very similar to the 2009 movie The Hangover, in which the characters try to piece together the previous night's events after partying.
Nathan saying "promise me you'll stay away from anyone with Keller in their name" is not only referring to his current professor but also to Chris Keller who almost broke up his marriage with Haley in season 2.

Fergie's name is Ferguson. Junk's parents own a Junkyard.
