  • Brilliant episode!

Really strong episode of early season two. All the story lines in The Truth Doesn't Make Noisewere great and characters developed well.

Loved the party thrown for Nathan and Haley. Lucas was right, there was too much negativity towards it and I'm glad it went down well and everyone had fun. Everyone except for Deb who continued to be complete pain in the ass this episode. Yes, it's hard that your son got married, but there's no need for her to be such a bitch to Haley especially in that scene at the Scott house. She was just rude and now is really detestable. But it paid off in the end because Haley gave her a piece of her mind when she told her to leave the party, probably the highlight of the episode. I love Haley's parents too. And Lucas's speech was sweet too.

I was so glad to not have any Brooke/Peyton/Lucas drama. I actually enjoyed seeing them work together to throw the party. Brooke's side story line to set up Peyton was fun, but again I'm glad she's straying from dating. Skills was funny here too! And he helps Lucas decide to reinvent himself right there in Tree Hill. How about that Luke - didn't think of that before? Will be interesting to see Karen in story lines separate to Luke and Keith now.

Dan being nice was a little too OTT for me - almost seemed like a joke. But it's a nice change from scheming Dan I suppose.

Really enjoyed this one - everything worked well.

  • Naley Wedding Reception

Dan woke up at the end of the last episode and is now feeling remorseful about everything and towards everyone. The doctor's call it the "phoenix effect" but no one buys it (me included).

Lucas wants to be friends with Brooke and Peyton and decides the best way to get there is to work together on a reception to celebrate Nathan and Haley. Brooke plans an awesome party with fake i.d.'s, 5 minutes in the elevator, spin the body, music, and wacky string.

The party is a hit with toasts from Lucas and Haley's parents. Deb yells at Haley's parents for allowing them to get married and Haley tells her off. Brooke also sets Peyton up on a dating website and the guys show up at the party, but Peyton doesn't want anything to do with them. In the end she removes her profile.moreless

  • Nothing is better than party.

Lucas asks Brooke and Peyton to help him throw a wedding party for Haley and Nathan. The party turns out to be crazy ! Best party ever ! Fake IDs,DJ and a face off between Deb and Haley. Deb is the only seriouse person in this episode. It's been two episodes and the only person who has turned things into drama is Deb. Dan wants to see Lucas. That's also partly dramatic. The whole episode was filled with humor and fun. Dancing, Brooke's party ideas,Peyton's guys from lust factor. Nothing was took seriousley really which is a good thing. The first season was so unbelievably dramatic that this show needed a breather but they can't keep things like this.moreless
  • Season 2, Episode 2.

With the assistance of Peyton and Brooke, Lucas throws Nathan and Haley a wedding reception. Although Haley's parents support the marriage, Deb has a difficult time accepting it. Meanwhile, Dan's recent heart attack causes him to try and mend his relationships with Deb and Lucas. Haha, I loved when Brooke asked Peyton to get her book so she can get a picture of her butt. LMAO! I like that Lucas and Haley are related. Deb is not taking Nathan's marriage very well. She's being very mean about it. Haha, Brooke. "It's Britney Spears and... Whoever she married this week." Pretty cool episode. =]moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Keith stops by Karen's house after returning from Charlotte with Lucas's iPod, which Keith claims Lucas left in his truck. However, the first scene after the opening credits showed Lucas listening to his iPod at the basketball court.

    • Brooke said Peyton was a 7.6 that morning, and was now 0.5 points higher, which she later confirmed by saying she was an 8.1, but on the computer screen you could clearly see she was a 7.5.

  • QUOTES (11)

    • Skills: You can shave your head dawg, but you still ain't as pretty as me.

    • Peyton: Brooke you did not post my ass on the internet!

    • Brooke: Oh look, it's our very own Britney Spears and whoever she married this week.

    • Lucas: I wanna throw a party for Nathan and Haley okay? You know, everyone's been so weirded out about them getting married and nobody's stepping up and just saying "Hey, it's cool! Let's celebrate." We're their friends, we should do this for them. And since nobody plans a party better than you and nobody rocks a party better than you, I was hoping the three of us could work it out.
Brooke: The party part or the friends part?
      Lucas: All of it.

    • Dan: Sooner or later we all choose a path. Sometimes you never look back, and sometimes life forces you to.

    • Lucas: I woke up in Charleston, and realized... nobody knows me here. Nobody knows about Dan, my mom, all the things I regret. It's all been erased, it's gone. And it felt good, knowing that whoever I decided to be from that day forward was the person that they'd see... And the phone rang.

    • Haley: Mrs. Scott, I'm not sorry I married your son, but I am sorry about how we ambushed you with it. I know you're dealing with a lot right now. Anyway, Lucas is throwing us a party and we... I'd love it if you could come.
Deb: Nathan's father nearly dies and you want to have a party. And, even if Dan were fine, I would not, and will not give you my blessing for destroying my son's life. Or, and you can trust me on this, your own.

    • Lucas: I think everybody knows that Nathan and I got off to a pretty sketchy start. Nathan, mutual hatred sound about right?
      Nathan: Worse.
Lucas: Yeah. You see, then a funny thing happened: Haley. She showed me that you can find the good in everybody, if you just give them a chance. The benefit of the doubt. Sometimes, listen for what's in their hearts and that's what Haley did with Nathan. That's what we should do for them. So for all you skeptics out there, prepare to be surprised. So this is to my brother and my little and in love.

    • Brooke: (To Peyton about guys pictures on the LustFactor site.) Too old. Oh, too hairy. Too…mine! Oh too female, but a 9.8, that's interesting. Here we go; here's an emo looking, sappy, guitar playing loser. He's perfect for you.

    • Lucas: (voiceover) T.H. White said; perhaps we all give the best of our hearts uncritically…to those who hardly think about us in return.

    • Mr. James: Hell, you can drive at sixteen, go to war at eighteen, you drink at twenty-one and retire at sixty-five. So how old do you have to be before your love is real?
