  • Set up for finale.

    8.0
What Could Have Been was a good set up for the two-part finale but also wasn't as strong as previous episodes.

I don't know what it was, but this episode didn't feel big enough. Nathan signed for annulment from Haley and moves home - that's huge - but it didn't feel that big of a deal. I was sad for Haley because she was about to go home BUT she did leave, and she's in admitting it was a mistake. The fundraiser for Nathan was a little pointless in the end and only served as drama for Brooke and Lucas. Speaking of, I do quite like that these two are getting closer. And the ending made sense, of course Brook would find something to doubt getting back with Lucas. I felt sorry for her too. And even him at the very end.

I really think Nathan is being naive in thinking his family will do better now. And Lucas is till taking down Dan despite his brother asking him not to. I liked how Karen e-mailed Keith and he just replied saying 'thank you'. It was a believable way of letting us and Karen know that he's safe. Peyton moping about Jake did just feel like a little too much. I like them as a couple but found myself kind of bored of it all.

So some big things set up for the finale - excited to get this season out of the way and move on to three!!

  • Nathan Comes Home

    9.0
Nathan comes home from the hospital to an enormous amount of debt. Lucas and everyone decide to hold a movie night fundraiser to help him out. It's so cool that they all want to help and I love that Brooke gave up the money her parents sent her and gave it to Nathan to help him out.

Dan being Dan goes behind Nathan's back and pays for the hospital bill and a few other things. He also shows up with annulment papers for Nathan and Haley which Nathan wants nothing do with. He shows up at one of Haley's shows with a signature from Nathan on them, but I really don't think he signed them. We never saw him sign the papers so I think Dan did it.

Nathan also decides to move back in with Dan and Lucas is moving out after promising Nathan that he will stop going after him. Lucas doesn't want to though (and I don't blame him) after finding out that Dan has been running a scam and hasn't been reporting all of his earnings and has instead been putting all that money into a college fund for Lucas. I really don't believe it was a real college fund. It may have looked that way but I doubt he would have ever given it to him.moreless

  • Season 2, Episode 21.

    9.5
Nathan is released from the hospital and returns home to a pile of unpaid bills and an eviction notice. Lucas, Peyton and Brooke throw a fundraiser at Tric to raise money for Nathan, but it's Dan that comes to Nathan's rescue. As usual, his gift comes with strings - he wants Nathan to ask Haley for an annulment. I loved Brooke's hypothetical question in the beginning of the episode. Hehe. I like that Brooke and Peyton can joke about the whole Lucas dream. I also like that Nathan and Peyton still talk to each other after their break-up. Good episode! :) Tim is starting to get annoying, though.moreless
  • Great

    9.8
Nathan is released from the hospital and returns home to a pile of unpaid bills and an eviction notice. Lucas, Peyton and Brooke throw a fundraiser at the River Court to raise money, but Dan is the one that comes to Nathan's rescue. However, his gift comes with strings - he wants Nathan to ask Haley for an annulment. Lucas moves back home with Karen and Nathan moves back in with Dan. This episode is named after a song by Callenish Circle. Moving in, moving out and moving on. Back in Tree Hill, Nathan makes a big decisions about his marriage to Haley... and his relationship with his parents. Lucas gathers evidence to use against Dan. Another awesome episode of One Tree Hill. Can't wait to watch more.moreless

    • Lucas and Brooke are looking at each other awkardly.
Karen: Now that we are all here together, we need to set some new ground rules. I know that the two of you had a history.
Brooke: Oh. Don't worry, Karen. We're just friends. Nothing more.
Lucas walks out of the kitchen and into
the den. He leans his hands against the couch
for a moment, visibly holding back tears.

    • Dan: Listen to me. It's my fault you emancipated yourself. I know that. It's my fault your mother's in rehab. Somewhere along the line, I started hurting the people closest to me, and I haven't figured out how to stop.
Nathan: You wanna stop being a dick Dad, then just do it.
Dan: I want to. I figured if Lucas moved in, I'd be my best self. The funny thing is, he's a better man than I'll ever be. All these years I've been the bad guy for abandoning him. It seems I actually did him and Karen a favor.

    • Peyton: I've been trying to believe the best in people lately, you know? Like hoping Nikki will just back off, or that Jake's lawyers will find a way to get him out. So I'd to believe that even someone as assy as your dad could be different if he really wanted to.
Nathan: Yeah, but you know all the crap he's pulled in the past. I mean, doesn't it sounds crazy to try to be a family again?
Peyton: I'm... I'm probably not the right person to ask.
Nathan: I mean, I wanna know what you think. Tell me.
Peyton: I would give anything to have one more day with my mom and dad together.

    • Nathan: What happened with Haley and Chris is not your fault. You love music, Peyton. Don't back away from your dreams. Or you could end up so bitter you just destroy all the people around you.

    • Joey: Haley, look. I like you. I mean, you've been a major pain in my ass, but in a good way. So, I mean, if you gotta go, I can't stop you. But I may need to replace you.
      Haley: Are you serious?
Joey: The question is, are you? Come on, I mean, you've got talent. I mean, you could be more than just a duet girl.
      Haley: I know, but...
Joey: Look, this is a business, and I'll work like hell to make you a star. But you gotta make a decision: How bad do you want the big time?

    • Peyton: One thing I've learned from all this Jake craziness is you've gotta grab every second you have with the people you love. Just don't forget about your "ho's".
Brooke: Come here. You are the best friend ever, P. Sawyer. But honestly: if Lucas and I couldn't make it as a couple before, what makes you think we can now?
Peyton: Well, for one thing, I wouldn't make out with him this time.
      Brooke: Huh.
Peyton: And another, he's not the same guy. And you are definitely not the same girl.

    • Brooke: What's wrong with you?
Nathan: Nothing, nothing. I just... You were in this weird dream I had during surgery.
      Brooke: Yeah, and...
Nathan: And, ah, we were kinda showering together.
Brooke: Don't be embarassed, everybody has that dream about me. (to Tim) Don't have the dream now, Tim!

    • Nathan: Welcome home. Bill. Bill. Final notice. Way final notice. You ever robbed a bank, Luke?
Lucas: Hey, you got friends. We'll help.
Nathan: Yeah, that sounds great. All I need is money for these bills and a hundred thousand dollars to pay the hospital.
Lucas: Wow, would've been cheaper if you'd just hit the brakes, huh? What happened out there, Nathan?

    • Karen: Dear Keith, I don't know if you're looking at email, but I need to say something. It's hard for me not to march in and take charge when the people I love are hurting. But I get it now... that's not what you need. If you have to go through this alone, I'll respect that even if it's not what I want. I won't call or write again. Just know that I'm here for you. Now and Always. Karen
      Keith: Thank You. Keith.

    • Lucas: Listen, we've been so caught up in Peyton and Nathan, I feel like I haven't really checked in with you. How you doing? Without Felix around.
Brooke: Fine. He was not the guy for me.
Lucas: Well I'm sure the guy's out there somewhere.
Brooke: Maybe. But I'm scared to open up my heart like that again.
Lucas: Isn't the alternative even scarier?
Brooke: Sure I get lonely sometimes. That's hard. But I guess that's the price you pay for figuring out what you really want, right?

    • Lucas: Yeah. You know, we did really well for Nathan last night. Particularly since you snuck in your allowance check from your folks.
Brooke: Oh, don't think of it as allowance. Think of it as three skirts, four tops, two bags, and a lot of really hot lingerie.
Lucas: That had to be tough for you.
Brooke: It just seemed like it was time to spread the commonwealth.
Lucas: That's gonna mean a lot to Nathan. I'm just sorry you had to give everything back.
Brooke: Well, not everything. Do you think I'm terrible for keeping these really cute wedges?

    • Nathan: Rig up a dart board with Chris' face on it and I'm in.
