  • Things are heating up.

    8.5
Things are definitely leading to a finale in What Is and What Should Never Be.

The Lucas, Brooke and Peyton takes a new direction when Nikki gets involved. Her and Peyton's bitching was entertaining and the catfight was crazy but who knew it was Peyton and Brooke who would end up getting along? The reveal that Lucas slept was Nikki does make him look sleazy and a bit of an ass so I don't blame them for being angry. I liked how Brooke called a truce but they haven't completely made-up. Definite finale set-up there.

Loved Haley throwing a party and being over her head. And I'm glad the sex thing is still an issue. That will probably be an issue for the finale too. Dan and Deb sleeping together was a little too unbelievable for me - how cringy was when they were in bed and she was rubbing her hand on his chest? AHHH. At least he finally excepts that they want a divorce.

Nathan's side story was good but getting a job shows how much he has matured recently. I'm liking him living on his own. Keith getting the job and wanting to leave town makes sense but I still think Karen loves him and should be with him.

Only two left...actually quite looking forward to watching Series 2.

  • Haley James, Party Girl

    9.5
Nathan gets a job at a pretzel stand at the mall so he can afford to pay for the apartment. Haley decides to throw a party at Nathan's. She invites as few people as possible, but it gets out of hand when word spreads. Lucas and Peyton try being friends again and hang together at the party. Haley doesn't invite Brooke which really ticks her off. Brooke meets Nicki out at the bar and the two decide to crash the party. Nicki and Peyton get into a fight and it comes out that Nicki is the girl Lucas hooked up with after his accident. Brooke and Peyton start to become friends again at the end of the episode when they realize it's better to be mad at Lucas then each other.

When the party gets out of hand, the cops show up and Nathan is arrested because it's his apartment. Haley and Lucas go to the jail to bring him home and Dan is there. Lucas stands up for Nathan. It's the beginning of a turning point for the Scott brothers.moreless

This episode was so good! One of the many Brooke and Peyton arguments is in this episode. I always love those. :) Karen tells Lucas that she rejected Keith's proposal. Haley is becoming popular. :) Yay! Brooke meets some weird girl, Nicki, and brings her to Haley's party. Nicki and Peyton fight, but Brooke defends Peyton, and they call a truce. Sophia Bush is such an amazing actress. Nathan gets arrested because of Haley's party. Dan gets him out, but expects him to come back home with him, and Nathan refuses. This episode was so good! I loved it. :) 10/10.moreless

WOAH! thats all I Can say about this episode!.... anyways I felt so bad for Nathan working with Gary who has nothing bad things to say to him because he was mean to him previously but forgotten about it. I also felt bad for Nathan because he got arrested as soon as he got home from work and he had no idea what the hell was going on at the time so that was a false arrest and it SUCKED royally that he had to call Dan of all people. Speaking of, I couldn't believe what happend with Deb and Dan lol talk about random haha but I'm glad that did happen though. Then the next morning he decided to sign the divorce papers OUCH! poor Deb that must have sucked! anyway back to the infamous Niki hmmm I don't know what to say about this except SLUT!!!!!! I felt bad for Lucas when he finally annoucned that she was the random bar slut that he had hooked up with the night before. That put Payton and Brook in a weird spot and that must have really sucked for the both of them. anyways that's my opinon on this episode let me know what u think...moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • When Dan enters Nathan's apartment and Nathan gets up off the couch, we can see that the TV has been switched off. After Dan and Nathan talk, Nathan goes back to the couch and we can see that the television is now magically on.

    • During one of the scenes with Nathan and Gary at "Hot 'N Twisted" you can clearly see that the soda machine in the background has only Pepsi as the soda they offer. No food service place would ever only offer Pepsi.

    • Haley's lipstick gets noticeably thicker and thinner between different shots during the scene where she's dropping off some groceries for Nathan.

  • QUOTES (18)

    • Nicki: So what brings you out into the big, bad, real world?
Brooke: Anger, alcohol and a fake ID.

    • Bartender: Can I get you ladies anything?
Nicki: Yeah, two vodkas. And two for my new friend here.
Brooke: Now you're talking, witchy poo.

    • Nicki: Well isn't that sweet! Lucas Scott coming to the defense of his women. Oh but wait, shouldn't that include someone else?!

    • Nicki: (to Peyton) You got a problem?
Brooke: Whoa, Nicki, she's not worth it.
Nicki: Get off me. (to Peyton) I asked you if you had a problem.
Peyton: Yeah, I do. It's called you, bitch.

    • Tim: What up, Nose?
      Mouth: It's Mouth.

    • (Nathan looks at Haley's tattoo "23")
      Haley: What?
Nathan: You're just lucky Tim's here cause I have a thing for girls named Haley James.
Haley: Really? You're lucky Tim is here too.
Haley & Nathan: Tim, go home!

    • Haley: (to Nathan) I'll kiss you later.

    • (Brooke is drinking alone. A guy sits next to her. She gives him a fake smile and looks away)
      Guy: Buy you a drink?
Brooke: Okay, guy in need of a clue. Here's one. Women send signals and that was a brush-off. Before you dip into your shallow pool of wit, let me paint us a picture and save us both the trouble. Here's your evening. You are going to slink back of to your buddies, laugh this off, get wasted, go home, and make nice with yourself. But don't be thinking of me. Because even your fantasy of me isn't interested in you.

    • Brooke: (trying to break away from seriousness) So that Nicki bitch is crazy.

    • Karen: Sometimes romance confuses a friendship.

    • Deb: Well, I'm off to tell Dan that he's got 24 hours to clear out his things or they go to Goodwill.
Keith: Or else I could help you burn them.

    • Peyton: I mean we're not really friends anymore, are we?
Brooke: You know, for a fake blonde you catch on slow.

    • Lucas: Well the good news is, I'm back. Bad news is, I suck.

    • Haley: (to Nathan, who just wakes up) I had the weirdest dream... There was this rapping at my window at four o'clock in the morning, followed by my boyfriend, who has his own apartment by the way, asking if he can crash in my room. Wait a second...

    • Lucas: (trying to stop Nathan from being arrested) Look, sir, he had nothing to do with this. He just got here.
Cop: It's his apartment, it's his responsibility.
Nathan: Great, I'm impressed. You learned that in detective school?

    • Nicki: (Peyton walks over to her and Lucas) I thought I smelled something.
Peyton: Oh that's skank. And... I think it's coming from you.

    • Lucas: Well I know how you're into this whole 80s metal thing. So I got you the first Tesla record. (gives her the record)
Peyton: Oh! This is sweet. Um, I got you a high five. Do you want it now or later?

    • Tim: Hi Mr. Scott.
      Dan: How's my wife?
