    Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

    • TRIVIA (3)

      • It is revealed in this episode that Miss Kazami is half human, half alien. One of the scientists who disappeared in the voyage to Mars was her father. The ship that the crew and he were on were rescued by a galaxy federation spaceship that Miss Kazami's mother was on (Miss Kazami's mother, Hatsuho, will be introduced later in the series).

      • It is revealed in this episode that the series takes place after the year 2009. Mizuho talks about a group of scientists who in 2009 voyaged to Mars to conduct research and Kei says that he remembers that since the ship disappeared and was never seen again.

      • In this episode, Kei reveals that, although he still looks 15, he is in fact 18 years old since he had undergone a "standstill" when he was 15 and didn't wake up for 3 years.

    • QUOTES (4)

      • Kei's Opening Musings: At that moment in time, my teacher and I were farther away from everyday life than anyone in the world.

      • Kei's Closing Musings: It accelerates. Faster and faster. It accelerated since I met her. Talked to her. Looked into her eyes. Promised her. Now... we're both accelerating.

      • Mizuho: (walks into class carrying some books) Uh-m. Good morning. I hope everyone is well today.
Hyosuke: Miss Kazami? Hear about the UFO?
        (Miss Kazami drops her books)
Kei: (laughs and says to himself) She's obviously disturbed by that question.
Mizuho: (laughs) Um, why are you asking me that? I'm just curious.
Hyosuke: I'm supposed to ask you questions like that. You're our teacher.
        (Mizuho laughs nervously)

      • (Kei gets caught looking at Mizuho's chest)
Mizuho: What are you looking at?
        Kei: I-I'm so sorry.
        Mizuho: I understand. You're a pervert, aren't you?
Kei: Ah. No, it's not like that. I-I mean I do have feelings like that, but not right this second.
        Mizuho: (laughs) Kidding.

    • NOTES (2)

      • The Japanese Title for "I Can't Get Married Anymore" is "Mo Omuko ni ikemasen" (もう、お婿にいけません)

      • Throughout this episode, and many others, Mizuho is seen eating "Pochy". "Pochy" is a parody of "Pocky", a popular Japanese snack food produced by the Ezaki Glico Company of Japan.

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • In a way, Kei's standstills are reminiscent of The Sandman: Preludes and Nocturnes. When the protagonist of the series, Dream, is held hostage, various people around the world fell asleep. They are like that for 70 years until the Sandman breaks free.
