Cassandra: I love you. Rodney: Well, I love you too, Cass. Mike: (overhearing this conversation) What a load of old cobblers! Makes you want to throw up. Cassandra: Why do you always come to this pub? Rodney: The atmosphere, I suppose.
(Rodney feels awkward about buying condoms.) Rodney: I keep going to buy them ... Del: Yeah? Go on. Rodney: Well, there's a sort of stigma attached to them. Del: No, that's just a piece of silver foil. You chuck it away.
(Rodney has to pretend he's fourteen.) Carmen: Come on, Rodney, don't be shy. You'll soon make friends. We're all going for jumbo hamburgers and double french fries. Del: Oh, good. That's his favourite. Cassandra: Don't get any ketchup down your shirt. Rodney: Et tu, Cassandra?
Rodney: That's strange that is. Del: What is? Rodney: Well I noticed it on the plane but it didn't quite register. Their all Mum's and Dad's. They've all brought their kids with them. Del: It's not the parents who are the winners Rodder's... it's the kids. You see Rodney's painting won... in the under 15 years old category. Cassandra: So they think Rodney's 15? Del: Nah! They think you're 14!
Rodney mentions this episode in "Time on our hands."
Rodney: She'd have to go on a diet to get into The Roly Polys. The Roly Polys were a comedy dance troupe, created by comedian Les Dawson in 1982. All of its members were overweight, middle-aged women.
Bros (mentioned by a girl named Trudy) were a hugely popular British boyband of the late eighties.
