"In the series premiere, Oprah meets the ten contestants and hands each an envelope with only the name and picture of a stranger whose lives they must change. Each contestant must use resources awarded to them to drastically improve the life of their assigned person within five days, forcing them to deal with the stress of it all by using ultimate strategy and creativity. At the end of the episode, one contestant is eliminated from the competition."

What are you opinions on the premiere episode? I think it is refreshing to have a reality show that has something positive coming out of it rather than nothing other than divorce papers (Moment of Truth!). As far as the people they are helping, I think the widowed mother of twin girls is heartbreaking, especially since the murder happened only six weeks ago!

I'm 3/4 of the way through the first show and I think it's such a horrible sAll of these peohow, not because of the premise, because it's awesome. However, as a viewer, I found myself totally lost. I know it's only an hr. show, but I had no idea how and why these huge checks and donations kept coming in. I mean, who are these people, how are they being contacted and how are all these gathering being organized in less than 5 days. You've got a fashion show with all of these girls and then so many people showing up and making enough of a donation. You've also got a huge gatherine in a church and lots of money being given, etc. etc. Come on, can an ordinary person do these things in a few days? That's ridiculous. It would take weeks!

To do this show justice, at least show how the contacts were made and how everything came together. If you can't do it in one hr., then you're only going to confuse the viewer. I don't know if I'm going to watch any more of this. As a viewer, I'm totally confused and have no idea how everything was accomplished...ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA!

My girlfriend and I watch all things Oprah. This show is the worst thing she has put her name on. The mix of giving (something Oprah is great at) with an Iron Chef type approach is a terrible combination. The two don't mix. The pay it forward was great. All the giving episodes on the Oprah show were great. This is taking personal problems and making a reality show from them is not cool.

Some of the recipients, like the solider and the widow looked mortified. taking their very personal problems and making a contest of them is in very poor taste.

I will not be tuning in to see any more episodes.

I enjoyed it, an Extreme Home Makeover/Amazing Race type of reality... But I agree with the user above who wrote that it's impossible for them to organise a fashion show in 5 days, to get in touch with a casino owner from a place you've never been to and get a check for 10 grand... But still, it's a reality with a good cause and I'm liking it so far

I can definitely see this show get a second season, and hopefully ABC'll air it during the summer, cause that would be refreshing

I am a die hard oprah fan, but this show isn't working for me at all. I think Oprah has good intentions but the way this show is executed will drive her fans away.

Yeah it isn't working for me either. I watch her show a lot, but I just have a feeling that this show won't last very long. I might be wrong.
