      • Ray Walston plays a "life assignment officer." When the androids are created, they have to be given jobs, homes... life assignments. His character is upset with the Sterling family because he thinks that Fabrique - the android designer - has gone over his quota.

      • Rules of Attraction was the name of a 1984 album Roderick Taylor put out on MCA Records under his pseudonym Rod Falconer. The music video for the accompanying single, "Only So Much Time," contained plugs for the series.

      • I found it is very curious why Ray Walston, known in the Trek world as Boothby, the Starfleet Academy groundskeeper, appeared in this episode in a photo.
