These books are wonderful in their own right, and not to be compared to Game of Thrones. I certainly don't think that a TV show that is being true its books means it is "trying" to be like anyone. If the pace is too slow for you, and you didn't like either episode, maybe its just not for you. Like the books, this story is for thinkers.

Loved it- took me back to the first books- seeing Jamie's back and meeting Jenny--- I am so happy this is a series.

I don't understand the talk and comparisons with Game of Thrones -- 2 different shows - watch each one for what it is and enjoy them both seems unnecessarily judgmental .

This episode was even slower than the first, and it just did not work for me. They are trying too hard to be Game of Thrones, they just don't have the writing, acting, characters or action to do it.

The make-up artist should get a raise. The legs on Colum Mackenzie was perfect. What a character he is. Claire played the part well when questions were asked about where she was from. Suspicion runs high in 1743 and still does. Mrs. FitzGibbon's played by Annette Badlands was bad to the bone. Great acting in this episode. Could watch her all day. Loving the history being played out. Comparing the parts of 1945 and now ,1743, in the castle can't be beat. Gives a clear picture of what and where of the castle. Just can't wait till next week. Read the books twice
