  • Excellent start

My rating is a 10 - I will keep trying to change it, but this website is not very user friendly. I change it to 10- it changes it to 9.5 and on and on!!,

Outlander - I am in the middle of the last book and thought this first show was perfect! It follows the story in the book (so far) to the letter- and even though there is so much detail in the book - show number one truly captured everything I remember as the main subjects. I wonder if I could follow the story line if I had no idea about the whole story- but I can and I am so happy to have faces for these very loved characters. So far I think Claire and Jamie are cast perfectly- can't wait to "meet" everyone! Thank you for making these books into a series - it can go on for 20 years as far as I'm concerned:)moreless
  • Sassenach

A slow, methodical pace to begin this series, but in a way it worked. The dynamic between Tobias Menzies and Caitriona Balfe was strong, although that appears to be gone (for now at least).

Not sure the longevity of this show if it does not have wall-to-wall action every week, but definitely a good start.
  • Outlander stands along!!!

I completely agree with 'readslot'. This series covers a lifetime of many characters. It is a wonderful love story and also the history in this time period is so grand. Claire has to adopt to 1743 and 1948. O what a story that unfolds.
  • On it's own! Not GOT!!!

To all of you (Ian Golding) attempting to compare Outlander to Game of Thrones: I have read all of the books in both series and they couldn't be further apart than, let's say, James Michener's "Hawaii" and the Harry Potter series!!! Please do a little bit of research before spouting off erasing everyone's doubt of who is the fool in the room. Both series hold their own place in entertainment, and both stories are predictable at certain points. If anyone thinks there is "gratuitous" sex scenes in Outlander, then I have to say you must be just that kind of lover yourself and of yourself. The sex in Outlander is simply so rich with emotion and passion that if you see it as unnecessary to the story than you missed the story COMPLETELY. I feel sorry for your lack of depth and imagination.moreless
