Pascalle: I thought I was going to hate it, and at first I did. But, like, old people are really grateful for anything and they really love me! It's like, remember when I was five, and I really loved animals and I wanted to be a vet?
Loretta: Pascalle, when you were five, I was two!
Pascalle: Well, having all these old people around is just like having all these wrinkly old pets around, it's great!
Falani: (when he buys Jethro's car from Van) You're an astute businessman, but a lousy brother.
Falani: (when Van tries to sell him Jethro's car) I'm confused. Doesn't Jethro have a car like this?
Van: Um, not anymore.
Falani: Oh, heavenly lord in heaven! Van, what drives a brother to steal from a brother who's his own brother?!
Van: I wanna buy a house and he's holding out on my cash.
Falani: Ohhh, so she's knocked up, eh?
Loretta: (as Pascalle comes in from her community service at the rest home) Speaking of criminals, how's life on cellblock sixty-nine and over?
Pascalle: I don't wanna talk about it!
Jethro: So, is the prick still staying over?
Loretta: Which prick?
Jethro: Judd.
Loretta: Oh, that prick. Oh, shocking, isn't it? He's sitting round the breakfast table munching toast like he owns the place.
Jethro: Un-****ing believable!
Hayden: Yep, betcha that's not all he's munching.
Jethro: Mate, you're talking about my mum.
Munter: How did Plan B go?
Van: I can't even look at you right now.
Munter: That's a heavy thing to say.
Van: Yeah, well, it's a heavy thing when your brother roots the woman who wanted your sperm and takes the cash you needed for a house!
Music Featrured In This Episode:
"Gutter Black" - Hello Sailor (during the credits)
"Kick and a Bang" - The Datsuns (as Van, Aurora and Munter drive to Piha)
"Home Again" - Shihad (as Van and Munter slide down the hill on Jethro's car doors)
"I'll Say Goodbye (Even Though I'm Blue)" - The Exponents (Pascalle's Karaoke number at the rest home)
Grant Bowler (Wolfgang West) did not appear in this episode.
Jethro: You made me a martini.
Tracy: Shaken, not stirred.
Jethro gets the full James Bond treatment here, with his martini shaken as 007 always insisted, served by a beautiful, exotic and scantily clad woman.
By A Brother's Hand:
This is from Shakespeare's play Hamlet Act 1, Scene V. The Ghost of Hamlet's Father tells the Prince, "Thus was I, sleeping, by a brother's hand of life, of crown, of queen, at once dispatch'd..."
